all good bastards do

GT was never a bastard, just dead clumsy

Getting the excuses in early? :)

A card is a card, and if they're for stupid, avoidable things, then there is a bit of a problem.

Hopefully, SS will sort him, as he seemed to with GT.

Just get a striker that knows what they're doing in this league. Pretty please.

  • Let's just get in the to fucking cunts. No more getting bullied and rolled like a bunch of gaylord fannies.

  • CMG is best in the B team

That isn't true. We took the lead at Orient last season. Charles scored first and Victor Adeboyejo got the winner.

Our best strike partnership since Walker and McGinlay :)

To put the cards in to some sort of context.

Ehrahon had 6 last season.

Thomason had 11. As you say though, the frequency of them did drop significantly after February.

EE had 19 yellows in League 1 in his career, GT had 33, whilst playing a very similar amount of minutes.

yep, I just think Erahahon is the type of player where that is part of his game - and yes, it may be that SS needs to calm him down and inject some composure into this game

GT was never that type of player - he was busy and had a good passing range and shot on him, but he was never the defensive midfielder we were crying out for

I think the issue was he was asked to try and break things up more than the others because of his work rate and ability to get about, and last season chuck in the pressure of captaincy and leading by example, and it just detracted from what he was actually good at, and it was what he became known for, a daft yellow card almost came to be expected

SS took that pressure off him, and even played him at LB

he's neither a defensive midfielder or a bastard, yet he holds the club record for yellow cards in season with 18

according to @meanderson93 above, EE has had 19 over 3 seasons

doesn't really compare

You will find Erahahon to be the most composed player on the pitch, a bit like Sheehan with the ball and a grafter without the ball, no need to take anything from his game.

Only fault you could perhaps fault him for is the bookings he receives for back chat as seen when he got the red here last season.

Possible 6 debuts in the starting xi ?

Sharman lowe, simons,ethan,duberry,gale,Burstow   ?

Gonna be an interesting 11.30am on Sunday.

Spot on. Remember that shite we had 20 years ago: Diouf and Anelka. 🙄

Point being, he had a record for back chat- that's according to their fans.

Maybe not so much for fouls.

Other players will know that, and if he can be wound up in such a way, then they will try to.

Hopefully, he can overcome it.

Spot on

Just been checking Bet365.

It's 350/1 for us to win 5-0 on Sunday.

The best bet is surely a Thierry Gail shot from outside the box at 28/1 better odds than a Dan header 😆

Given that Dan won't be playing, he's got some decent odds!

2-0 us

I think the odds for McAtee and Dan under "header" are the odds for them winning one this season

Didn't McAtee score one last season?

Hen's tooth job obviously.

I'd still want more than 20's

I’m really excited about this game: it’s a new season, we have a new team and the old enemy - hope - is back.

Whilst we’ve been rebuilding with young players with the potential to be Championship standard next year, other teams have taken a different approach.

Stockport have shed quite a few players including the excellent Olaofe who ripped us a new one last year who has gone to Charlton for not a lot shy of two mil and brought in Mothersille from Posh. They’ve got Forini back from loan in midfield but mainly they’ve bolstered their defence - a back line including the experienced Finnish international Hoskonen, the athletic Oluwo who had run his contract down at Donny plus Hughes, also ex Posh. Potentially solid at the back with wide men who like to get forward so expect the battle to be won or lost on the flanks - a lot of pressure on Gale and CD in the first proper game but Im sure they can handle it.

Hurry up Sunday.

They seem pretty confident of having Nathan Lowe in by the weekend and a full back from Burnley but either way we should have enough to do much better this season and by using that hope you mentioned lusty start with a win.

I've just read that due to the train issue there are buses going from Bolton Interchange to the ground on Sunday.

£10 return.

Times are 9:45, 9:50, 9:55, 10, 10:05 and 10:10 returning after the game

Good plan would be to book it but just use it for the return journey.

Drinks in Manchester pre game.

Suggestions on where to park please ? Have an all day do on Saturday and will be setting off about half nine ! Might be fun.
