  • This is now my des-res in Yorkie Land. 10 minute walk up across a sheep field and we're on the coast to coast walk... we follow this for a short distance onto the moor then cut off along a track

I'd guess that's not unusual.

When popping off for a break, folk tend to go a bit further afield.

Aye true. Bowland is lovely as are many places

I lived in the sticks on the edge of the FoB whilst at uni. Only for a year, but ventured out for walks on occasions.

Then the other way, along canals and footpaths to Glasson for example.

Would like to get out that way more often, but the 3 dogs are somewhat difficult when on their leads, and can't really let them off in fields full of sheep or cattle!

Get yourself on the Westwood or have a wander round the racecourse

Just avoid the cows

That's a bit harsh. I've been out with a few lovely women from Yorkshire.

Beverley is next to the Wolds, hilly as I used to cycle round there

Not pennine stuff like though

And he had previously said it was a nice place

Bollocks... Goole and Thorne are Zombie invasion towns... Beverley is good but Withensea is the pits.

Hornsea has had a revival but it is still too close to Hull for my liking

Thorne is South Yorkshire

Hornsea is very insular and they don't like outsiders

Withernsea is a shit hole I agree

Iceland!

Get yourself off to one of the local producers.

Dewlay folk were friendly and helpful in their shop.

Others knocking about, Buttlers at Longridge for example.

If you like goat's cheese, I can sort you our with some from a very local producer- not too far from the Pack Horse.

Reet mate. I will very soon be scouring the Costa Del Sol for these other establishments. Must be Longridga?

Ah I see.

It's only a brief flight over..😁

Full marks for a sense of humour mate.

in my younger, student days, I'd watch Emmerdale (and Eastenders) but never Coronation Street

We won't ever drink Yorkshire tea, one time in a Morrisons my wife is at the ham counter (do they still have them?) and asks for 6 slices of the ham, the girl serving says "the Yorkshire ham?" My wife says "oh is it? , nah the other one please".

That's a bit over the top.

Yorkshire tea is quality too.

I don't drink any other tea. Proper brew.

Mind you, there are those in our scooter club who believe that it is actually grown in Yorkshire. FFS

Yorkshire tea are the only decent tea bags available.

Rington's Gold are better but they're bloody Yarkshire as well

Betty’s Tea Room blend is the best by far imo. I buy 1kg loose leaf online and share it with mother. Same company as Yorkshire Tea. Not cheap but lovely

Everyday supermarket tea bags in the Manc household usually Lancashire Tea or Thompson’s Irish Breakfast

Apologise if I over reacted... I've had rough week
