  • This is now my des-res in Yorkie Land. 10 minute walk up across a sheep field and we're on the coast to coast walk... we follow this for a short distance onto the moor then cut off along a track

Been living in Yorkshire for almost 2 years.  What’s not to like? Loads of great curry houses, oldest brewery in England and over 2 million sheep.

Kids next door told me this joke not long after we moved in which made me giggle….

What does “twerk” mean in Yorkshire?  ……It’s where you going during the day on a Monday t’Friday.

I went to Halifax the other week for the first time in my life and really enjoyed it.

Peace/Piece Hall is a belting place and loved the pubs and little gaffs in the town centre.

Did you go in the Old Cock? Belting place, more feet than teeth in there.

I find Yorkshire more picturesque than Lancashire with all its old stone houses and all that

I really like it round north Yorkshire and it's coast, much more pleasant than coastal Lancs for me

Some lying b****** 😂.  Bloody Yorkies.  According to Google, Sam Smiths is only the oldest in Yorkshire (1758), whilst oldest in the country is Shepherd Neame (1698).

Lovely! Did part of it when we managed to escape the local lockdown in 2020. Enjoy!

Early 2000s had a night out in Halifax

Was in the Wetherspoons around 7pm

It has a big staircase in the middle going up to another level

Two women who had probably been on it all day trying to get down the stairs

Whole pub realised and were cheering them on

They get to the bottom to huge cheers then one chucks up as the other tells everyone to fuck off

Some lovely places in fairness. It's a big area after all.

Plenty of weirdos too.

I used to live in Beverley

Nice place and as the racecourse is built on common land I could walk the dogs on it

Obviously when there wasn't a race on

But some of the locals are so snobbish simply because it's not Hull

There was a planning application in for a McDonalds drive thru and the locals went into a rage about how such a place wasn't welcome in Beverley

Despite it going on a retail park next to a Poundstretcher, Halfords and Morrisons

You need to explore more of Lancashire!

Agree about the coastal areas- though the Cockerham are is pleasant.

Plenty of old stone type places, and get yourself to Chipping; it's got the oldest continuous shop.

I held you in high esteem up to this point. Now I would put you forward for a course of heavy medication.

In all seriousness creamy Lancashire is my current favourite cheese. They do a Naan bread filled with it in Asha’s in Manc

Never liked Lancashire cheese as a kid, so never had it since. Might have to revisit
