August 7, 20251 yr Just been on the stadium tour this morning. Present from Mrs Swanny. Absolutely brilliant seeing all workings, even know the squad for Saturday now :p seeing the away team changing rooms set up to be non plush (even had woodchip wallpaper) to the fancy home team ones. Shown round by the Head PR person, and met Super John on the way round, my wife's beaming as Craig Rawson gave her a pair of signed boots "from the Premier league era".. we've no idea who by but one has a 7 and the other a number 4.. certainly worth doing and really shows how forward thinking the club were in the 90s to have a set up like this.
August 7, 20251 yr Did the tour in the early days of the stadium and being used to Burnden it certainly was impressive = think the tour finished in the club museum - shame we still dont have that

August 7, 20251 yr Did the tour when Sam was in charge and he blanked me in the corridor as he was going into the office. I don’t want to talk about it, but I’m just about over it. 🙁
August 7, 20251 yr Author Quick update, after much CSI Swanny, we have found the boots belonged to (and were signed by) Kevin Nolan and Matthew Taylor..

August 9, 20251 yr I did it years ago when it was some old bloke taking you around. Great insight and was only a fiver or so. Will definitely do it again if they put more dates in later in the year.
August 11, 20251 yr Took son round in early days. Working out how to get the 6 grandsons around over the next few years. Probably can't get any of 'em to lead out the team for a FAC 3rd round game like I did for my lad. He did a cracking interview with the late, great Dave Higson. Top value is the tour IMO.

It's funny you mention this. I've met many a player and manager over the years watching us, yet Dave is always my outstanding memory. It is his bloody fault I love this club....he was infectious, in a good way

I remember going on that gantry in the early days. It’s fucking terrifying if you’re scared of heights. Seem to remember it shaking. Checked on Saturday and there were 3 or 4 on it. Also checked if the back seats were higher and can confirm they are which surprised me. Your was good. Remember Suntan walking past us at reception and blanking us all.
August 11, 20251 yr you know where the rows get very short at the side of the press box - dunno if it even gets used anymore as i am west lower - but our first seats were on those back rows like subbuteo

August 11, 20251 yr Do we have a designated trophy room? Feel that's something we have missing. A club like ours should have a proud room showcasing the 4 FA Cups (or replicas at least) and more importantly the biggest trophy of all. The Pizza Cup.

They said that often the trophies go back and that it's more like keepsakes etc. Although I do recall us having a trophy cabinet at Burnden, guessing a lot of stuff is stored away somewhere.
August 12, 20251 yr Maybe we need a wanderersway outing to the stadium tour, streamed live so bolty and the others can feel part of it

The players actually had their training session on the pitch that day, so my brother and I were ball boys for it. We got pictures and autographs with Mark Fish, Gardner, Bob Taylor, Neil Cox, Branagan, Holdsworth and several others. It was an absolutely brilliant day. We even ended up playing head tennis in the changing rooms. Something like that for a 12 year old just helped to prove why BWFC is MY club. My Dad asked the tour guide (an older fella called Tom), "is Nat around?" as the great man was my Grandad's all-time hero and Mr Lofthouse actually left a meeting to come out and meet my Grandad and take a picture with him. What a legend. I still have the picture framed at home. Edited August 12, 20251 yr by Naytch

Think it was deemed to high for TV and they film from lower down. Number crunchers with laptops use it & Sky for Soccer Saturday etc if sending someone. Neil Mellor was up there on Saturday.

We used to have our sandwiches up there when working on the build... we did the floodlights one night when the safety officer had gone home 😆
