  • Can’t believe the panic and overreaction. We absolutely annihilated them for 65-70 mins. Someone has already said it but it was like a cup game with leagues between the teams. Their fans cheered

  • I really don't think we are far off being a proper outfit. All the ducks are in a row. It'll happen.

  • We can't not make subs. The players he took off were flagging. Unless he changes the whole shape of the team at 1-0 up and goes either defensive or all out attack it will always be like for

Given the owners record on keeping managers in position I reckon we'd have to be rock bottom in January before they'd even issue a verbal warning.

we could lose every game this season and he wouldn't be sacked

nor should he be

Still think it’s a coup landing him. Proven at this level and his foray into the champ wasn’t that bad. A stokie at work said it’s been the only time the fan base was quite united in disappointment when they potted him

Think there's only one lunatic on planet Bolton that fathoms he's under any kind of pressure.

He asks Sharon to borrow some money and he will get 5 years.😂

I like what he said in that big interview, and the behind the scenes work this summer.

Certainly have to get behind him.

If we do lose every game though, he wouldn't see the end of the season. :)

Or gets his cock out on Social Media.

It's a bigger job than just the football,

Clubs fully invested in the one town, one club, one community and i'd wager part of the job is that the manager has to be invested... Ian Evatt wasn't towards the end.

All the preseason family events have really put football first and foremost and my kids will carry that on.  They're already highlighting which away matches they want..

I think he's 100% invested and going off reports from pre season in Spain he couldn't speak highly enough of the club.

But let's not pretend it's nothing more than a results business.

If he does well and get an offer from above he'll be off like any other manager.

If he does crap he'll get sacked too.

Football is about results and nothing else.

I actually think he should be sacked if he loses every match this season

And drawing against Barnsley.

The mid 80s Bolton right back? Solid, at best?

No shit

Not a given by any means, they’re a dangerous team capable of scoring good goals, but really, I’d be disappointed if we don’t win this. With away games being so tough and the opening rung of fixtures we have, this one would have been identified as a real opportunity for 3 points.

We have to score the first goal

What has getting sacked got to do with him wanting to win some games?

Do you really think he’d get sacked for not meeting the board’s  - or moreover his own expectations for a while yet?

I just said he needs to win a few games. It would give him confidence in what he’s doing and he needs good results to reaffirm he’s on the right track.

All this, childish hysterical nonsense about “sacking” and being under pressure is a bit left field and  nothing to do with what I wrote. That said, this is BWFC so he will get stick if he doesn’t deliver eventually.

You’re a mod aren’t you? Need to have a word with those who have trouble with comprehending English  😀

Shocked me that he see’s him more of a FB than a winger / wing back. I wouldn’t say his greatest asset is his defensive work. If anything I thought he would’ve been seen as a winger with someone in behind him doing the defensive work.

I think he sees him as a winger but one that's not better than gale, ACD or Cissokho. Against Plymouth after he brought cogley on , tutu played wing for the last 20. Also worth nothing it was Schuey who played him as a winger last year after he came in. He just isn't getting in this team as a winger with these options.

Maybe they don't want to sign another RB because they have 3/4 players who don't specialise in that position but can play there and the funds are better used elsewhere.

In regards to Tutu , it's difficult to put him ahead of gale and ACD as a winger. We've not seen enough of Cissokho, but he looked good when he came on at Barnsley.

I think Tutu is being used as a utility player this year covering the wing and RB.

That makes sense. I guess everything comes down to finances and whilst every armchair manager has a wish list to upgrade in this position or that - and let’s be honest, we could upgrade everywhere if we had limitless dosh - we are speculating about the available finances. Tutu is good to have around because of his athleticism and versatility and whilst he might not be the best winger or best full back we have, he can do a job.

Do we have a date or time frame for Dalby?

Training again with the first team, off on fitness due to having had no pre season, maybe back for Blackpool or Rotherham in the cup.

Could he be on the bench tomorrow and give the last 15 minutes if we are winning or as an extra striker if we aren’t.

If no Dalby this week, Burstow's workload could be decided by how the games go.  Inconceivable he gets a break when chasing a goal as at Barnsley.  If we're leading in last 15 minutes or so he's surely getting rested, probably for McAtee.

Any fit outfield player that doesn't get any time on the pitch this week is clearly out of favour (probably CMG for one).

We've not had 2 proper senior fit strikers available since we beat Leyton Orient 2-1 at home (Collins & Adeboyejo) in February which is bonkers.

It's no surprise that in terms of league form how much we've struggled to score going back to the end of last season.

Dalby back in full training for over a week.........Taylor since Friday

Can see Dalby getting last 20/30 both games to ease Burstow workload......Taylor again could get the last 15 depending how the game lies

Two more out of the squad  to sit with Schon and Gomes
