This flying of flags malarkey

People putting flags up , outside houses ,and attached to streetlights and street furniture.

Councils flying the wrong flag over the town hall ?

What would be the flag of choice outside your house?

Obviously on this thread Pride will win by a country mile , but what about the rest ?

Seems a bit mad the Lionesses came home to 10 Downing street decked out in George Cross flags , but if the MSM are to be believed councils are removing them as fast as they can!

That has a different connotation in the mushroom farming community.

Deffo mate. I’ll bring my wheels along as well.

Have a spin from the river to the sea 😉

Hopefully we make it on top gear.

Did you see that fucking moron Davey marching with the band?

He really is a fucking embarrassment that bloke. He'd be better served seeking a job as a Teletubby or similar within the childrens entertainment sphere.

Who in their right mind would send any vote his way?

I've seen that claimed a few times and not just in this instance and, to be fair, I think it's bollocks

Pushing council workers off ladders while they're doing their jobs is utter dickhead behaviour though

so bolty hates not only the government, has lost faith with the official opposition and now believes that the third biggest party in the UK government is a 'joke'

and he still believes he isnt fringe in his views. Funny lot these right wingers, not only are they fickle, but they have no answers. It is a tale, told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

But enough of your woke leftie nonsense. Can’t you (supposedly) hear the silent majority “marching down the road” behind our Nige and our Tommeh? The road to nowhere.

Won’t be long before Farage’s finances are exposed and the edifice crumbles.  I have complete faith in (most of) the British public not to believe in false idols (unlike in the US).

I’ll give old Bolty some credit here and say that he has, where others have spectacularly failed, managed to state his solution to the boats.

Admittedly, using the Royal Navy to blow them out of the water is as mental as he is, but at least he’s stated his case.

Secretly, I reckon a few others would back this option so long as their choice remained anonymous.

And as its on my doorstep, that to be fair would be a fun day out popping down to watch us launching shells across the channel. Dover Castle could wrap it up as part of their world war two re-enactment weekend.

Well, not quite as of yet. But I did see Reform getting beaten in my local ward by the Lib Dems though.

For someone who so feverishly supports our military, he does seem sketchy on the actual rules of engagement that Our Boys have to abide by.

Im no expert either, but instinctively I suspect the Royal Navy aren’t allowed to shoot at unarmed civilians just because they’re heading across a body of water in order to go and deliver a Nando’s or open a vape shop.

Complexity and details aren’t high on his agenda. But getting angry and blaming George Clooney when those details get in the way of a shit idea is very high on that agenda.

You’re living in a bubble then pal, Reform will get in. They’re favourites for a majority & the odds will only increase with time.

Unless there is some major scandal involving Farage. But don’t expect him to do the honest thing & resign if there are issues with his finances. He’ll dig his heels in.

Living standards will continue to fall under Labour & the economy will stagnate at best, probably get worse. They will be far less popular come the next GE, barring a successful leadership change. But they tend not to work.

Other parties might unite & form a coalition. Will see nearer the time.

But I’m 75% sure Reform will get a majority.

And nothing Reform does will improve living standards or the cost of living crisis either. For the same reasons Trump is losing popularity and make very little difference to the lives of working class Americans.

Only when politicians start addressing rising levels of inequality will living standards & our economy improve. No idea when that will happen.

p.s - none of this ramble means I don’t think something needs to be done about illegal immigration 😄

A series of posts by the usual suspects.

'Keep the red flag flying high'? Probably.

Sorry, I was trying to gauge what you meant when you asked me “do I live over here”.  Thought that was what you took umbrage with.

Your question was too cryptic for me I’m afraid…..

There is a reason that Reform are leading in the polls at the moment.

I'm out walking the dogs, working at folk's homes most days, speaking to neighbours etc.

I go to suppliers, shops.

Visit places on holiday.

In general conversation, I have yet to meet anyone who has openly said they're happy with the state of the nation, and in particular migration.

Whether that translates to a landslide victory for them at the next election, who knows- probably not.

Nevertheless, I reckon the vast majority of British people aren't happy; and using voting intention as a measure of that is folly.

Agreed that must folk aren’t happy with economy/education/heath services/migration …. most things in fact, myself included.

I’ve said before how frustrated I am with the main parties for not doing enough.  I’ve said before I don’t blame folks for turning to Reform.

My point, same as a few folk on here, is that I don’t think Reform are credible, and don’t offer a viable solution to migration and certainly not to running the country as a whole. I also think they are run by charlatans.  If they got in we’d have lions led by donkeys.

So, I hope/believe Farage will get discredited.  When he goes Reform will crumble under in-fighting. I also hope Labour will make more progress more quickly, and that folks will regain trust again. To answer RW I have that faith in (most of) the British public still. Starmer is a decent man. Farage isn’t. Tories are in the wilderness. Libs….enough said.

I'm still going with my gut feel that Reform's polling won't hold up until the next GE

It may well not do.

There is after all, lots of time to go, officially.

Polls can only indicate intentions now.

The reason that the government's own machine is ramping up attacks on them.

They may find something that damages Farage et al, but they're already damaged themselves.
