This flying of flags malarkey

People putting flags up , outside houses ,and attached to streetlights and street furniture.

Councils flying the wrong flag over the town hall ?

What would be the flag of choice outside your house?

Obviously on this thread Pride will win by a country mile , but what about the rest ?

Seems a bit mad the Lionesses came home to 10 Downing street decked out in George Cross flags , but if the MSM are to be believed councils are removing them as fast as they can!

So. These 40 arrested last night from a group of 2000ish. Thought there’d be some reaction considering the outcry when 25 were arrested from a crowd of 150,000ish. Anyone?

Outcry from who?

All I see is the law of the land being applied evenly, under the stewardship of the current PM.

Nothing to see, really.

I must admit - much as I'm not a fan of some of the reasons people have put them up, they can look pretty smart when it's been hung well!

I think the Union Flag looks particularly smart when it's flying. Or when they do one Union Flag and then a St George's Cross.

They're smart flags mind. Right size, right way up, decent material, all at the same hight!

And then you drive down Moss Bank Way past Johnson Fold. The England beach towel hanging out the bedroom window just doesn't have the same effect! 😁

😂😂 farnworth started off well but parts of Market st now have some rags hanging across a piece of string across the road. Suppose it was always going to be the case once the weather changed.

Needs a trifle on a pedestal close by. I am a bit of an expert y'know.

If I see anybody taking flags down they are going to the Tower, plus they might fall down some steps on their way there the cocoa shunters

Nah, sorry it all looks shit.

Plastic flags hung on lampposts. Drove past last weekend, i didnt think Breightment could look worse but its managed it, its not just how they look, its the sad reasoning behind them.

So many other European countries do it so much better. Its like the shittest display of patriotism ever (which actually was a French left wing concept against royalist factions)

Amusing.

FFS. The fucking fun police.

"A French left wing concept against royalist factions". No doubt a staple discussion topic at Friday night Islington brasserie revolutionary planning meetings with the comrades.

Just a bit of history, is all. Its just interesting that the concept shifts over time. When Johnson said 'patriotism is the last refuge if a scoundrel' as a stauch tory, he was referring to the more radical Whigs and their concepts of community and nationhood over the more Conservative view of servance to the Crown. Just think its interesting given the country's current climate.

Anyway, you are aware I dont actually live in London? The Whitstable branch is currently more concerned with if they can still hold the monthly meeting in the Duke of Cumberland since Shepherd Neame put the prices up for room hire.

I do know. It just doesn't sound as intimidating as Corbyns manor.

Ones on Radcliffe Moor Road have been erected very well.

Catching the breeze and looking magnificent.

Lad counted them from there into Radcliffe the other day, and got over 100.

Some going for a couple of miles or so.

Makes some of us proud, others even more ashamed of their birthplace. Go figure.

Where were these flag nonces 2 or 5 or 10 years ago? It's almost like this "movement" has been orchestrated...

Sussex. I'll wager that they aren't as fastidious when it comes to the rainbow flag.

Fuck them.

Not sure many folk are going round hanging pride flags halfway up lampposts.

Having read that, I think they have positioned themselves very well.

Played the situation with a straight bat, and used the legal situation to side step any accusations.

Very different to this.

Look at these muppets

From the same breed who had a meltdown when players took the knee, saying 'we can't be having politics in football'.

Britain First are the worst of the worst

They were objecting to the comments made by their owner.

Neville fucked up, and has alienated himself amongst his fan base.
