We cant, immigration isnt the reason for the housing problem in the UK.

I was talking about Australia?  Lots of issues here, lack of supply, high demand, tax benefits for investors/landlords, NIMBYism all bigger causes than immigration.

But ignore the electorate at your peril.

It’s part of the problem. You’d have to be completely blinkered to suggest it’s not

The boats need to stop. 100%

But I have serious doubts that everyone will suddenly be millionaires and rapes will stop.

Farage loves the boats, they’ll make him prime minister. Beyond that, he needs to start talking about how to run a country.

He can’t as it’s the only thing that gets his supporters excited.

If he were to talk about for example increasing child care places, taxing larger companies more or any other non racial subject his followers would understand and would stop listening to him and we all know that Farage likes to hear his own voice.

Try buying a house in Halliwell or Astley Bridge and come back to me!

You can buy them. Its the massively low housing stock, and a hugely aging population.

Im not saying its helping but the blind stupidity that immigration is the only reason why we have a housing crisis is just there to be preyed on by populist nincompoops.

Again, a simple narrative, to a much more longstanding and complex problem starting with selling off housing stock and not replacing it, which also.causes the pricing bubble, which those who bought their houses cheaply dont really want solving because they are sitting on unearned assets, and so governments find it really difficult to tackle the issue. That and nimbism that stops new housing developments.

We used to be really good at this stort of stuff in the post war, progressive ideas such as new towns and better housing for all, but again we seem.to have become.more.closed minded about this, and more insular - and therefore its easier to blame an outsider for a host of problems we were storing up before they even set foot in the UK.

Has anyone said that?

Why do you and others keep bringing up Farage? Is it because his party is so far ahead in the polls? Do you not think that you and others should be looking at the reason this government has now the lowest rating ever for a new government. I’ll give you a clue, it isn’t the opposition.
Everyone’s fault other than Labour.

You used to ask about Labour all the time because you knew they'd be the next government.

People are simply doing the same based on the direction of travel.

It's fair to ask the people showing support if it's just a vote about dinghies.

Which, by the way, it probably is.

Correct. I never got an answer. People, like you, used to blame the last government for everything, me just somethings. You still won’t blame Labour for anything. Farage is just a distraction.
It isn’t just a vote about dinghies. The economy will soon be the biggest issue for most. For many it is now.

I didn’t blame them for everything, for the record. I even complimented Boris on occasion.

Balance is subjective, clearly.

As for the economy, you won’t find anyone saying Labour were going to turn around 14 years of shite inside a year. It was always going to be difficult but, as I said, they get 5 years.

Screeching after 6 games that we need a new manager is a little knee jerk. Particularly when he’s cleaning up what Evatt did whilst also being told there was very little money in the pot from day one.

Standing on the side offering criticism isn’t that far off.

It’s easy to criticise and you’ll never be short of ammo. Floats your boat, for sure x

And I’ll keep swapping the pic. For you.

Ta👍 Just realised it’s actually 3.😊

It’s no different to your constant criticism of Brexit and the Tories and Farage. We just have different boats to float.

The Tories I’ve barely mentioned for a year. They’re a spent force.

Farage deserves attention as he’s currently on course for the top job. Like you, I’m simply asking what that would look like. I mean, it couldn’t surely be any worse 😉

I like hearing it too. Hopefully you will all have to on a regular basis after the 2029 GE.

He will be yesterdays news by 2029.

I think you are wrong. Very wrong. Time will tell as it always does.

Some people are incapable of sensing the zeitgeist. This is not just a UK thing, believe me.

It is an entire 'Western world' thing. Open your eyes.

Thanks for sharing that. I would have done the same. Proves everything I said.👍

It was 11 months before the election. Yes I was getting abuse because I was warning what was to come. Yes I said the then government deserved most of the criticism.
As I said any criticism of Labour is diverted back to the Tories or Farage. It’s 4 years to the election. Reform doesn’t even have a shadow cabinet.

Ps. I searched Tories and 14 years in your posts and there were too many to screen shot.😉

It's a significant strain on housing prices and I'd argue that with anybody claiming differently.

Not to mention that they bought up much of the cheap housing stock and are now renting it back to people at vastly inflated prices.

You're looking at £900 PCM or there abouts for a terrace house like I used to live in in Thorpe St. It's crazy money. And those areas are now in really high demand because they're slap bang in the middle of those communities - and close to Mosques etc. And (this is a massive leap on my part) I imagine they are much more likely to sell to people from the same background. Which is why people like Manhattan Properties do so well around that area. It's a closed shop.

So god knows where white British kids are supposed to start out on the housing ladder. I'm not sure I'd like to move into a massively overpriced community where I'm not welcome.

Bolton has changed immeasurably mate. I know it's hard to see living where you do and then visiting Smithills when you come home. But the town is on its arse.

You do know you’re not allowed to use your own eyes as evidence on here. It’s frowned upon
