It's not a massive leap at all. They get mortgages easier as they have their own network of haram proof loan system. Riba as they call it is forbidden in Islam so they don't use conventional lenders. Hence they acquire the property easier and fill it with their own. They essentially all piss in the same pot. Same way they get fancy new cars on finance and you get 19 year old driving Audi spiders up and down deane road at 90 mph. Edited September 1, 2025 by gonzo Quote

Proves everything I said.👍 It was 11 months before the election. Yes I was getting abuse because I was warning what was to come. Yes I said the then government deserved most of the criticism. As I said any criticism of Labour is diverted back to the Tories or Farage. It’s 4 years to the election. Reform doesn’t even have a shadow cabinet. Ps. I searched Tories and 14 years in your posts and there were too many to screen shot.😉 You’d best not search Labour under your name either, to be fair. I think 20+ pages came up. But on a politics thread stretching several years I’d expect nothing else. You seemed surprised that I mention Tories a lot. 🙃 The main stat is in your post. 4 more years, then we can compare how well they’re doing and measure them against a fair metric. One year is not adequate. Quote
Spider Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 I see Labour have tightened up the asylum process today. Shocking that it’s taken a year. Quote

gonzo Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 Sad state of affairs when it takes the likes of Reform and wallies outside hotels to kick the government into action. Quote

To be fair, I am not sure that's why. The riots from the Southport attack told them all they needed to know and their approval rating clarifies it now. Farage is always offering problems, never solutions so I will look forward to some when he gets in power. I still haven't seen how we return all these people to France from anyone? I don't know how that is possible on any level be it diplomatically, militarily or whatever. One thing we need to do though is stop dumping them in poor towns, get them all in the fucking Cotswolds, loads of space for a processing centre 😉 Quote

Not in Crawley Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 Oooh lots more flag seen in Herne Bay High Street - but not very high up the lampposts so it looks like the place is in mourning. Quote

Yes, and I agree that shouldn’t be happening. I also agree though that the Mail is being sensationalist in stirring the immigration pot, which isn’t helpful to anyone atm, creating more division and potential for civil unrest. Not good for immigrants (who will get abuse or worse), or easily influenced patriots (who could end up with criminal records). The government knows (at last) it’s in a mess on this and seems to be getting its act together. Let’s all judge them at the ballot box in 4 years time. If they sort it out they might get my vote again. If they don’t they won’t. Edited September 1, 2025 by Bertie Quote

gonzo Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 Serco just bought two hotels on Derby Road in Blackpool. Any gaff they have seem to be filled with Black folk. Women with Babies in them sling things and stuff. Quote

I would imagine serco deal with owners. I would imagine developers would be very wary. It is known that developers aren't entirely enamored at having to have a given proportion of affordable houses in a development, as they fear it could reduce overall sale value. You would imagine that that would be the case in this situation. Quote

Absolute nightmare, had 4 offers and they all disappeared when the solicitors wanted to do the anti money laundering checks as the communal mortgages they do don't look legit on paper even if it's all above board. Tonge moor green jacket Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 I do know that with some of these housing associations, developers are happy with the deals as money is sometimes exchanged beforehand/in stages payments, meaning they don't have the same capital outlay up front. I suppose that mitigates what may be a lower sales price, and gives assurance that the properties are all sold in good time. Quote

No idea, I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re doing both now. There’s another couple of company’s that have a similar contract to SERCO as well. I can’t think of their names at the minute. Quote
