fortunately, it seems pretty much confined to shitholes

which makes sense really

anybody living in a shithole, working hard and struggling to make ends meet has my sympathy and i can see why theyd want to blame somebody

i doubt its them sticking sports direct efforts up, mind

I know it's hardly Bromley Cross but I was still pretty disheartened to see them on Mansell Way 😓

Why?

3 reasons;

I dont believe they were put up by patriots for patriotic reasons.

Aye, I saw something the other day that suggested the more flags, the lower the average IQ of the residents 😁

I was horrified to see loads up in our village yesterday morning (bunting between lamp posts all the way up the high street), fortunately it seems it was only for some "Tour of Britain" bike race passing through, they've all been taken down now, and I guess put away by the Parish Council until the next event of note.

why does he need a loudhailer?

Is Palestine free now then? I don't see how the international community can ignore such a powerful group

Yep. 1 group protesting a genocide the utter bastards.

The other not wanting to see brown people (unless they'd cashed in smuggling them in personally).

Loads of the Union Flag up in Chew Moor on lamp posts.....

Starts at the home of cricket all the way to Tempest United.....

Although they could've done with a bigger ladder.....

Isn’t that Lostock? Tut tut.
Technically, Mansell way is now Lostock as well according to my mate.
Horwich, Hulton Lane, Morris Green….

All shitholes (allegedly) Haven’t seen any in Farnworth yet.😉

I wonder if London Wanderer displays his English Pride in Jockland? Pride maybe.

I don’t own any flags. Do you?

I wear my England top occasionally during the big tournaments. But that’s more of a football rivalry than patriotism, used sporadically when I get pissed off at Scottish fans supporting every team we’re playing against more than they support their own.

Funny business this patriotism isn’t it. What does it mean to you? Or anyone else on here for that matter?

I don’t feel any pride about my nationality, & I never look to celebrate it. Not because there is anything to be ashamed of, or that there is anything wrong with others being proud. I just couldn’t care less, never really have. I feel no connection to the Union Jack or st. George flag.

I wanted to move to Scotland since I was a kid, just preferred the landscape. Have always preferred songs like Caledonia & Loch Lomond over shite such as Rule Britannia & God Save the King. If that makes a traitor, then so be it 😄

There are many things I love about the UK. But none of it belongs to me. I don’t buy into this whole ‘it’s my country’ shite. It’s all subjective. Once you live here legally you’re as equal as the next person. We’ve always been a melting pot of immigrants & ever changing traditions. Change is inevitable.

How about everyone else? Where do you all sit on the patriotism scale?

Theres lots this country can be proud of

I dont feel like I deserve much credit for it, mind

So, its lines on maps for me

Unless its sport

And then Ill support anybody representing us ...of any race or religion and be it England or UK

Sums it up for me ....

People sometimes ask me what it means to be a progressive patriot, how the concept differs from traditional patriotism. I explain that the progressive patriot cares deeply about their country's values and whether they are upheld, rather than national symbols and how they are displayed. They take pride in how we conduct ourselves today and going forward, rather than relying on past glories.
