Good player him, impressed today.

Don’t think I’d swap any midfielder in the league for Simons though. Very quickly becoming my favourite player for us for a long time.

When we add Burstow, who'd have thought our 2 best/most influential players would have been lurking on the periphery of Hull's bench a few months ago.

Just a note of caution is that neither have had the same impact away from home, yet.  McAtee's scored as many away from home as Burstow and he's only played for about 10 minutes.

That was his best cameo yet.

In fact all the subs were good, and helped in securing the 3 points. (Well maybe not Cissoko! - although he was no worse than Gale, poor game from him yesterday.)

Funny how folk see things differently. I don’t think any of the subs were particularly good (Toal gets a pass because it was better than sticking Simons at RB)

Good job we have the extra subs these days given out of all the wingers and full backs, only ACD seems capable of playing a full 90 minutes.

Talking about players coming on,  randall !   Just why?   He should be nowhere near the squad, yesterday his cameo was embarrassing,  think it just have been a bit to windy and cold for him.

SS Obviously thought he could calm things down when it was scrappy, but Randall was nowhere near the pace. I struggle to understand what has happened to Randall. A great player once but he’s totally lost it and I can’t work out whether it’s the legacy of his injury, a different system/role or his head’s just gone but whatever it is he’s a liability/passenger at the moment and will get cut further adrift when Dempsey is back.

I’d forgot about him, maybe not all the subs then! 😂

Morley, Toal and Dalby were decent

Some crazy comments on Randall.  He came on after 86 minutes 😀

Made some intelligent runs to try to get us up the pitch and was rewarded with some awful passes from ACD, Toal amongst others, that he didn't have a hope in hell of retrieving.

Despite that, didn't let his head drop, continued closing down when Posh had it, and trying to show for the ball when we got our (unconvincing) possession.  Time and again he couldn't get a decent pass, how anyone can say it was evidence of his decline as a player beggars belief.

Him and McAtee just have to run on the pitch to get criticism.

Surely McAtee should be in front of Randall.

we need demspey to comeback in and randall to be dropped from the squad with mcatee

dempsey will sure us up when the games in the balance randall wont

Yep - he played for 10 minutes and was completely anonymous, perhaps in part to the poor passes you refer to. But he did get it a few times and his passing was just as bad at the others - which is irritating as he had one job but ended up contributing to the problem he came on to solve.

I just hope he gets back to being the player he once was, for his sake as well as ours.

Fair, balanced comments.  Obviously I can't know what role SS asked him to do, but the fact that he brought him on instead of Sheehan suggests he wasn't asked to just calm it down and keep possession, or he would have just brought Sheehan on as he did effectively v Wigan.  He was presumably asked to the play the Forss/10 role and when a team is on the back foot that can be a thankless task, literally just running around trying to put the opposition under pressure or chase punts/poor passes.  Charles, Vic, Kachunga, even McAtee have been praised in the past for doing that chasing job without touching the ball for 15 minutes, its not glamorous when you're hanging onto a lead.

I don't rate him, I would have brought Sheehan (or McAtee) on instead of him, but he was no worse than Forss, it was for 10 minutes and its barking to judge him on that but give others a free pass.

I agree Randall was frustrating but everything seemed to come at him a bit off. A more confident player may have managed to do something with them but he didn't make any real mistakes. Just one of those performances you get with a player who's struggling.

We slag em off enough when they're bad, and they often are, but I thought the ref did well yesterday.

I'm not sure the weather yesterday would suit Gale, ever.

Was planning to be there but family matters intervened. Sounds like I'd have been calling in to the club shop right after the straighteners for summat warm.

Does anyone know why there were no BW fans in South Lower yesterday?

Can't be to do with expected demand, not much different yesterday to any Saturday game.

Unless they've decided to sack it apart from big games?

I thought they were a mixed bag, Dalby's half hour made sense in the conditions (TSL's kicks were being held up in the wind and needed battling for) and he did alright. If ACD had pulled the ball back instead of shooting on one occasion he'd have had a tap-in.

Cissoko was a liability in what was becoming a tight game, didn't contribute anything of value. If Taylor was ever fit we could bring him on and push Conway forward for 20 mins instead.

Morley was steady enough. Randall another nonentity in that sort of situation. We lack someone who can add a body to the midfield and help close games like yesterday out
