  • Anyone saying JDC was shit today are fucking loons.    Clean sheet. Got forward lots his energy is exceptional. His crossing ain’t great but we are a League One team our players are not perfect

  • Thought Cardiff looked a high level team at times, pressed us well and forced us to make rushed passes. But they were completely toothless. Not a single shot on target is just bizarre for a team that

No. It's allocated seats.

From memory, a bit closer to match day you get an email which has the bar codes on for specific seats.

  • The title was changed to Cardiff City (H)
  • 2 weeks later...

We need to win this if only to keep them to an average 2 points a game.  That would put them on 26 from 13, and we're on 20 from 13 so we really could do with pegging them back to make up a bit for the 2 recent losses.

If we win the next 5 we'd be still 1 short of 2 points a game so the minimum requirement should be winning our home games for the foreseeable.

After Thursday this could be another 20,000 plus crowd.

20,000 is the rough minimum these days.

Not sure how many they'll bring, they're top of the league and a big city club but not really a big club in general.

Should be a great game, despite their position I really fancy us.

Really desperate for some consistency now.

As we saw against the pie eaters, there's no point getting a big result and feeling top of the world all to lose the next game.

Gotta follow it up.

It's 12 30 though

Reckon 1.5k tops

Appreciate it's early doors, but the more I look at this league the more I think it's such a great opportunity to go up. I can see it being harder next year tbh.

I really hope we can push on and put a run together. That being said, a point here wouldn't be the worst thing, but we can't lose. Need to stop giving cheap goals.

It looked tougher before it started but right now it's looking like the weakest of the last 5 seasons we've had here

I’m the same. The last few years we’ve seen teams wrack up 106 and 111 points.

I don’t think there’s going to be anything near that. A couple of teams may be currently tracking for that on PPG, but they don’t have the squads and resources that previous ones have. So I expect a drop off.

if we can put a run together of 5-6 wins in 8-9 games we’re really going to be in the thick of it. Especially if we’re beating teams above us, which has been our Achilles heel.

85 points could see you promoted automatically and I think that’s achievable. (We’ve previously finished 3rd on 87)

We're obviously nowhere near the finished article & SS has done his best reshaping the squad in just one window. That being said, every team in the league seem to be taking points off of each other & there's no leading pack who look sure fire to finish top two so with the quality in our squad along with a gaffer who has the experience of getting out of the division we should be somewhat confident that we'll put some runs together. I'd back us against anybody at home this season, we look far more accustomed for the big built up games under SS too, just got to trust SS finds a way like he did at Argyle to pick up points away at the tight, narrow grounds. Cardiff have some really decent players for L1 level but they're have an Evatt type modern coach who's hell bent on possession so if we start like we have at home in most recent games I can see us jumping all over them & doing some early damage before they can even control the game.

I'll hold my hands up that I couldn't see a way that Luton and Plymouth wouldn't be top 6 minimum.  Of the 3 relegated teams, I thought Cardiff might have been the best chance of a car crash, financially and with an unproven manager, but so far I was wrong on all 3 counts.

Luton and Plymouth have somehow both ended up with inexperienced, no track-record managers and now I'd be amazed if we didn't finish above them.

Which for me is a shift from we could have had a great season but still only finished 4th (given Huddersfield's spending), to we could have just a fairly average season and still have a decent chance of competing for top 2.  If we can't find a way to get above 2 teams that were in L2 last season and Stevenage and Lincoln, its a big under achievement.

I might be wrong, but Cardiff haven’t pounded anybody yet. They seem more functional than fluent and whilst that’s commendable, it does catch up with you eventually when you’re always in close games. The fine margins start going the other way way.

Confident that we’re actually as good if not slightly better than them and our ceiling is higher. If we’re at it, I see no reason why we can’t beat them but it will be tight. Home advantage. 2-1.

Aggregate 7-0 v Plymouth and Rotherham wasn't bad 😀.  Also put 4 past Orient (4-3).  In all their home games they've either won convincingly or conceded first, which has happened 5 times out of 7.  But they've come back to win most of them which is the mark of a team that's going to be successful.

More significantly, they are the total opposite of us away from home, in that they like a clean sheet!  Only conceded 1 all season and that was at Stockport.  They are going to be a tough nut to crack, we won't have a harder game than this at home all season.  So I'll take that into account when assessing if a point is acceptable. its just a shame it comes now when we really need to be winning games to catch up.

Stevenage away and Bradford home coming soon as well.

draw won’t be a disaster against Cardiff but we are 4 points away from even the play offs so we need a winning run.

it is tight at the top though and we are only 6 points from the top. Beaten Northampton and Burton we would be top now

Reading about their 2-1 home win today, & it seems that their goalkeeper was their best player !!

Its more than that though, even if we'd won those 2 we'd be on 2 points a game, and Cardiff/Stevenage are 2/3 points above that.  We are well off the pace currently and need a succession of wins home and away if we're talking about top 2.

I genuinely can't remember the last time we won a game this season or any other when that was the case for us!  Was it Jussi at City?

Point isn't a disaster but would definitely be a disappointment. As would any game at home where we fail to win.

Looking forward to this. It's a great marker for where we're at.

22nd placed Reading had 26 shots away at Cardiff today.

We can certainly get at these at home.

Fair enough. I don’t pay that much attention but seen that they’ve had some strange results. Particularly at home and struggled at times. (As have we) against teams you’d expect them to beat. They’ll too probably see this is as their one of their biggest tests far.

Has the feeling of a big game this one.
