  • Anyone saying JDC was shit today are fucking loons.    Clean sheet. Got forward lots his energy is exceptional. His crossing ain’t great but we are a League One team our players are not perfect

  • Thought Cardiff looked a high level team at times, pressed us well and forced us to make rushed passes. But they were completely toothless. Not a single shot on target is just bizarre for a team that

Tough one to call. If we're going to be challenging for promotion then we need to lay down a marker....

Logical. So can’t dispute it.

But I wonder what message this sends to Toal.

Good reasons for both to play.

SS has talked about coming into the side, taking your opportunity, which I think Toal has done.

I’m not saying it’s right/wrong, but I think it’s a decent enough reason for Forino not to play - The side that played Thursday played well as did the player who took your place.

I think there’s justification and reason for any combination of the 3. I’d be ok seeing any of those.

The side on Thursday weren't that good initially, but picked up well afterwards.

I do feel that back lines (particularly) centre halves shouldn't be swapped too often as they need to gel as a partnership,

That said, all centre halves have had "poorish" games at times, and if SS was to put the big man back in, then it would be understandable.

There's not been a CB who could.claim his performances this season have made him undroppable.

For me though, Forino has to play in games like this.

Agree with that.

Him keeping Toal/Johnston together would be consistent messaging, come in, play well, keep the shirt.  Neither Toal (international duty) or Forino (injured/ill) were dropped for poor form.

So if Forino finds himself on the bench, he’ll be gutted, but he’ll understand why.

Telling Johnston he needs a rest would be understandable too, if he wants to use the other two, but I understand concerns here with no left footer.

But Johnny’s call about Forino’s form, presence and impact is also valid. Him and Toal battling it out for the one RCB slot you’d think.

I would go for Toal and Forino together with Conway and JDC making up the back 4.

I've fuck all idea how Cardiff play, who they've got up front, or who'd be best to counter them.

I suspect SS does though, so happy with whatever he chooses.

If by “lay down a marker” you mean an emphatic win that will cause other teams to shit themselves, we’ll need a lot more than that given the position we’ve got ourselves into. Winning our next 6 games in a row including those against the current top 3 would probably be more like it as we’d be somewhere near the top of the league, and have finally put to bed the inconsistency, away troubles and finishing issues that have dogged us so far - the very issues that give belief to the teams we come up against.

Maybe then they’ll not feel so confident.

A marker would simply be beating one of, if not the favourite for promotion.

They have a decent away record to.

Of course winning others afterwards would be helpful, but we can only play one at a time, and that consistency starts with each subsequent win.

No idea if they are anymore, but I’ve always had Cardiff as a direct team of ‘big men’. If that’s still the case and we leave Forino on the bench due to a win at Huddersfield in which the defence didn’t exactly look solid, then we’re mad.

Despite Toal’s height, Forino is the only genuinely big centre half that we have and for that alone it should be him +1 in this league full of carthorse cloggers.

Any spare esl for saturday please.

Both Centre halfs played well Thursday. No errors. Goal was on Cogley.

I would be surprised if the defence isn't the same. The midfield might change , but I'd be tempted to keep it Sheehan and Simons.

They are odds on favourites, strangely we are 2nd favourites! They havent lost away this season, and only let one goal in, time for all that to change!

“Strangely” favourites?

They have a game in hand and 6 more points than us already. Of course they are favourites - but we need to step up every week and stop them and others disappearing out of sight.

Youve read it wrong! I said it was strange we are second favourites!

Aye, clearly so.

They were favourites from the off too.

If I was an impartial betting man I'd have this down as a 2-2 draw.

But I'm not.

So we will win 3-1.

Burstow 2, Forrs.

Madine for them.

Knew a Cardiff fan at uni whose favourite player was Phil Stant, who is from Bolton and fought in the Falklands

Proper hard man apparently

Apart from Nathan Blake, Madine and that Joe summat we had, don't know much else about them

2-0 to us

I think this is the perfect game for us. There's no quicker way to make up the points we're adrift than by beating teams ahead of us. And we've generally been good at home.

In 1973 we had a FA cup classic against them . We were in Div 3 , they were Div 2

2-2 burnden

1 -1 ninian

We won the 2nd replay at the hawthorns , 1-0 , midweek about 5k wanderers fans there , played in the snow ❄️. My dad's mate took a load of us in his car on a school night. The hawthorns serenaded to " when the whites go marching in " during heavy snow

Always liked Cardiff since that day

6-3 win. Paul Jones with a couple of headers. Probably one for Whatmore in there somewhere.

Not bad all things considered

Must win for me if we want to get ourselves in the mix. 3-0 bolton
