We need a whole new back line

I’ve been saying this since last July

To be fair Apters looked better today.

😂 shows how low the bar is. He’s put 2 good crosses in, one of which was a free kick, but still looks like a kid playing in a men’s game.

It’s a shame because we could really do with one of him, Gale or Cissoko coming good because we won’t stop playing with wingers now that ACD is back fit. The question is, who plays on the left.

He's the weakest of weakest links.

Soft, gets rolled and bullied easy and his act of coming out with the ball with arms outstretched then going sideways is up there with Santos standing on the ball for making my blood boil.

Forino plays, that first one isnt a goal. Leaving him out is mind boggling.

Toal has gone backwards over the last 18 months.

Neither him nor Johnston are good enough centre backs to play with just two midfielders in front of them, neither Conway or Tutu are full backs.

Christie, as has been said, looks like a bloke in a vets game.

Our defensive deficiencies laid bare.

The persistence with 4231 with all of those issues is as blind stubbornness as anything Evatt was guilty of.

He’s fucked if he can’t pass it back to Bonham or roll a hospital pass in the vague direction of Sheehan.

Yeah, I thought one or two may have been ok, but they just aren't and seem to be getting worse, Toal is certainly getting worse

The bottom line today is Cardiff are streets ahead of us. We’ve only got a bit more in the game since they’ve took their foot off the gas following the second.

SS has pulled some master strokes this season but going to Cardiff with that lineup and following that first half performance and still not changing it is difficult to accept.

Cissoko is currently head and shoulders above the other two tbf. Presume he was one of those injured or got the lurgy today.

They just aren’t a league one pairing. One or the other can work but they are too slight, too soft and too small as a partnership. This league is physical and you can’t get away from that fact - you only need to look at them together to tell you that it won’t work over a full season.

There’s also going to have to be a discussion at some point about how fucking shit Eoin Toal is.

Under investment at the back  and they all look like there running in treacle today running back

I actually think our best left winger is probably JOT

But then that means christie at RB, which gives me a nightmares

Maybe we have to take a punt on Cissoko

You're not comparing apples with apples, to be fair

We're down to the bare bones so were always on a hiding to nothing today

It's the way we've gone about is that's worrying

And that shows how bad we are at the back if Tutu is our best right back

Why anyone would send us out to be initially so defensively minded, passive and try and contain them I have no idea.

your up against a team who have won 1 in 6, have had their own performance and defensive issues recently and you send a team out who can’t defend to retreat and let them have it all their own way

before anyone comments on our defensive record it is one of the most deceiving stats you could ever see. We don’t concede many because we always have the ball for 2/3rds of a game. But when they’re asked to defend they can’t.

2 poor CBs,  left back who operates as a winger then a RB whose legs have gone. Add to that weak willed players like Gale and Tutu and it’s absolutely criminal to adopt an approach like that.

Yet again when we’re goals down they start to show a bit of composure, intent and we looked better

absolutely no chance do I trust any of these men over 3 intense play off games that are usually decided by the smallest of margins.

We have been in 3rd place for a fair chunk of this season. The recurring issue is we've looked like the 3rd best side in the league less often than we've looked like the 13th best.

Certainly a 13th best day today

Agree with all that.

Taylor being so shit and Christie’s legs completely disappearing meaning that we have literally no other options at full back has really fucked us.

Booooooooooooooo

That was fucking wank.

Our form at the critical end of the season is now a concern, we fell off a cliff last season and we don't seem much better this time.
