Is back to Android boxes ?

Mine is still fine....for now. I'm sure at some point, you won't be able to use a firestick anymore, I've a few mates who have already moved across to an NVIDIA Sheild (I think) and they reckon it's decent. I'll wait for my firestick(s) to stop working before I make the leap though

pretty much, shouldn't be too much of a problem for a tech-wizard like yourself though

In the main mine is but just don't think it always agrees with the virgin media router, even when using for legit reasons

Firestick says there's updates but I ain't touching them just in case

Have the dodgy app on my phone so if the firestick does play up I just cast it to the telly

An android box but theres nowt wrong with a fire stick if your provider is half decent which it seems many aren't.

Correct. I've ditched all my FS's as I suspect Amazon IMO are going to update them to stop side loading. When I used FS's I had all the privacy settings off as it reports back by default all your settings. I know theres millions using a FS's and that a lot of data being sent and stored, but it doesn't take them much to run some queries esp with the help of AI.

I've gone with a Thomson Streaming Box 270 but there's Xiaomi TV Box S & NVIDIA SHIELD. All the apps are on google play.

anyone have issues with Vodaphone at certain times on a Sunday, or is it a myth the limit broadband? Do I need a new stick/provider?

I've never noticed a problem on a Sunday with Vodaphone to be honest

Some of us will never use Vodafone.

I got my man to reboot it and all is fine now.

It just disappeared in the end.

What player are you using now?

Couldn't get either of the Champs League semi finals this week on a steady stream, gave up in the end.

Does anyone use anything other than a Firestick? Wondering whether it's worth splashing out on a decent android box instead.

I have a Google box and it is better than a fire stick but it makes no difference if your provider is shite which is the reason 99% of the time.

I’m moving house in a few weeks and want a firestick or maybe 2 to see me through for a few months.

Anyone know who can help?

If you decide on a box i can recommend an Nvidia Shield, had mine for 8 yrs and its been excellent.

Another vote for Nvidia Shield, works well for me

I have one that I don’t use.

if I was getting anything new, I would no for a buzz tv

My FS is now letting me down a bit. It’s a @lamblamb one and worked well until recently. Now it works sporadically; India v England in women’s cricket, no problem, PSG v Arsenal, not a chance!

Any advice?

Oh, advice needed in words of two syllables or fewer; I really am a technophobe!

Alternatively, @barryk32, kettle’s on.
