Ani Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago (edited) Team Bonham Desmond Toal Forino GJ Sheehan RR ACD Cissoko Kenny Burstow Same as last week apart from right back. Who thought Cissoko would be undropable ?? 🤣 I would not be adverse to Conway instead of him though ! Edited 21 hours ago by Ani Quote

Bring whoever on I fancy us to get over the line in the semi, but if we're looking at form against leading teams, our last results against the 10 best other teams have been 2 wins (Stevenage and Plymouth), 2 defeats (Mansfield and Cardiff) and 6 draws. We can't say its a reason we'll win over 2 legs, our stock result is to draw. But we have a habit of doing what we need to do and battling to the 100th minute, so as you say bring it on. Quote

Think they have pace up top so would still like us to try 3 at the back but SS isnt going to play that . Stick a few kids on the bench for when we are 4-0 up or down after 60 mins they can get a decent run out . Quote

Form goes out the window in the play-offs but the fact that we are so hard to beat will get us over the line . Now Ive invoked the wrath of the footballing karma gods , you can all blame me . Quote

Not having a pop at Johnston but he aint no left back...In fact he is shocking there and SS does him no favours selecting him there Quote

Since we don’t have anyone better then he obviously has to be played there but hopefully we can upgrade in the summer wherever we are? Edited 11 hours ago by Whitesince63 Quote

In my opinion he’s a poor defender yet gets praise for hitting the opponent in a 50/50 40 yard out on the touchline. He panics, awareness of what is around him is almost non existent, decision making is piss poor and his reading of danger is ok at best. the regularity of his mistakes can’t just be something that’s out of character. The side he plays on whether that be CB or LB is at fault for such a large proportion of goals conceded that it’s just down to rank defending from a poor defensive player He’s not alone in that either, aside from Forino who has been our most solid CB this season they’re piss poor all across the back line Quote
Eddie Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago I’ll say it, I don’t mind Tutu at right back. Considering he’s a winger and playing in a back four that isn’t exactly functioning, I think he’s done pretty well overall. Not without the odd mistake but especially with ACD in front of him I’m perfectly happy with Tutu lining up at right back. Fair play to him because I doubt it’s his preferred position. Quote

Got the impression he was sulking a bit in the early days when he had to do the defensive side which is natural I suppose for an attack minded player. But he’s really come on since probably the turn of the year and made that spot his own. I think his pace gets him out of a few situations where he hasn’t read it correctly or been caught out of position but yeh credit to him, he’s been solid enough moving forward though we definitely need to address those 2 FB positions and bring in players who know the job. Might not be as attack minded as Tutu and Conway but can shore up a back line where it’s needed Christie looked a shrewd signing as he gives you just that but his legs appear to have just gone. The season has caught up with him Edited 11 hours ago by barrycowdrill Quote

I'd have been using these last few games to see if we can play Conway back to form, otherwise we're stuck with Johnston at left back and it'll be a massive weak link Quote

Tutu IMO links up well with ACD. ACD works really hard so helps out defensively. Tutu is a threat going forward so if they double team ACD gives us a good option. Think we have got ourselves into a slight mess on the left. Gale does not work back as much as ACD so whoever is left back looks exposed and teams have played on this. CBT was such a threat with his pace it countered it, Cissoko was so good at Bradford last week it also countered it. Can not see anyone but Cissoko starting after last week, just hope he is just as good this time around. Quote
Whitesince63 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Well according to Schuey we’ve now got young Inwood back from loan so what’s the chances of his being included over the next few games? Probably slim with Conway also available but if it’s a defender we need he could come into it with the success he’s had whilst on loan. Quote

Win, lose or draw everyone will just be consumed with looking towards the play offs won't they? Why would they go on the pitch? If this is a heads up before the play off 2nd leg in 2 weeks fair enough but we probably need a reminder before that too. Quote
