As with Doctors and Nurse, its a small world for Teachers

If you dont pay em, get ready to lose em

Good to see you back posting pal 👍

Hope N is ok talking about teachers.

The only folk who criticise teachers are those who’ve never done it or have never lived with one.

Anyway what do I know, I’ve never been a proper one! 🤣

Decent tradesmen are like gold dust nowadays.

The ridiculous push towards sixth form and uni has been about for decades along with a massive snobbery towards trades lads.

At my school not one representative was sent from BAE, BNFL or any form of trade.

Was all about getting your A Levels and getting to uni.

I wasted 18 months at sixth form doing my A-Levels.

Plumbers and Sparks, builders are kicking on £300 a day round here now easy for bog standard labour only.

Bang on mate. A fucking travesty.

I blame parents mainly.

Worst. Job. Ever

Pay the poor fuckers double.

Wouldn't alter the shit they get.

The stories you hear of child behaviour (and that of parents) are horrific.

About time these feral twats were given some discipline- and that has to come from government ultimately. They set the tone by legislation.

Allow teachers to actually teach instead of having to be all things to all men.

Scum bag kids generally have scum bag parents.

Indeed, my mates daughter is a "new" teacher, she said that teaching now seems to only be half of the job, she spends most of her time caring for the young children and teaching them stuff that should be taught at home, simple things like manners, respect and discipline

yes, and we're now in the 3rd generation, scum grandparents, parents and now kids. Never working, sponging off the state, and generally just being a drain on society. I'm not sure what we do to stop it, as the 4th generation will soon be coming along. Imagine, several generations in the same family, having done nothing but drained society

teachers don't get paid for holidays, only the days they work.

Never knew that 👍

I love it when folk lose their shit over inset days, not realising that they came out of teacher's holidays.

Absolutely.

Got to break that cycle.

Society seems unduly skewed towards the scumbags unfortunately.

It can be even worse than that, my wife is a teacher, when you talk about the things they have to teach that should be a parenting responsibility it can be even beyond the social expectations you mentioned. Kids get sent to schools not knowing how to wipe after going to the toilet, can't tie shoe laces or dress themselves, kids go to school hungry. Can go even more down the rabbit hole, if they've not been in nurseries there isn't even a basic level of understanding concepts like shapes and colours.

Some parents don't parent at all and schools now, especially primary schools, are expecting to bridge the gap and get these kids brought up to a level of their peers almost overnight and if a child can't cope it's seen as a failure for the teacher. It's a stressful and rapidly unrewarding profession and one that this country is very soon going to realise needs far more support or we're going to be in a right mess.

They just don't pay them enough.

I always think that about nursery staff

it's hard enough looking after you're own when they're not in

imagine that

x 10 / 15 that aren't yours

all day

especially when they're acting up

fuck that

and near enough minimum wage whilst the nurseries rake it in

no thanks

Part of the issue for nurseries is that the funding for free places via central government is capped.

Some have struggled or closed and have had to put the prices for standard care up.

Not conducive to paying decent wages.

so we increase funding (who knows where from) and thick cnuts whinge about paying for other folk to breed

but, no affordable child care means we lose people from the labour market

or, they don't breed

then the thick cunts dont get their pension )

im glad im past getting worked up about it, tbh

It is already.

All politicians should expect it. How he reacts to it especially when he or his team make a real fuck up will be critical.

I'd been moderately impressed until now. He's now let Abacus back in. A portent of doom if ever there was one.

He has already shown his ability to dodge the awkward stuff, and dive into stuff that folk will think "yeah, that's good".

He's good at it, and that's why he's eventually got the gig.

He's even managed to avoid the internal criticism and dissatisfaction becoming a "big issue". Yet.

The huge elephant in the room is announcing all this spending, without yet announcing exactly wher the money will come from.

We're already on the down side of the laffer curve according to some, with projections of the highest level of taxation, as a percentage of gdp, ever for this country.

He's going to have to find a way of making the requisite cuts, and possibly face up to his backbenchers.

His first u turn on raising the basic tax threshold has also seemingly been played down, but he will have to answer the difficult stuff eventually.

Boat people raised its head again, with large numbers arriving, and the French police openly admitting they're told to let them go, rather than intervene.

Not a good look.

All part of the Burnham bounce I suppose.

He'll get away with saying any old shit, whilst Parliament is in recess - let's see how he copes when he has to stand up and face the opposition.

So far, so good it seems, but this is still very much the honeymoon period for him. He's projecting this "man of the people" image at the minute, that will slip eventually, possibly when he comes under real scrutiny, and he has to actually try and push something through, rather than just "considering" doing something

Is he brave enough to turn PMQs into an actual debate rather than a mud slinging point scoring exercise ?

Saw he was criticised for wearing designer label clobber the other day. But most responses seemed to be ‘who gives a fuck’ and ‘he is supporting a local clothing manufacture’

lots still to improve on but this feels more like the early weeks of what Labour should have been like .

It does seem extraordinarily unlikely tbh!

Maybe if they had had a cardiac arrest after hypothermia. But it's been too warm.

Possibly hyperthermia too - but I imagine it would be too early in the morning to reach that kind of temperature.

So yeah - does seem implausible at first glance.
