The alternative is to lend is to friends or family.

It’s not either/or. You can still do this. The club is offering a different way.

  • Absolutely tremendous. Lots of things to think and chat through but for now lets just think back to those grim days at the end of 2018/19, that day at Wycombe with the kids and the 5-0 defeat at Tranm

  • Not read the last 13 pages, so apologies for repeating others... I thought we were excellent today for at least 75 minutes. We became a bit disjointed with the subs etc, but the starting XI were fant

This time last year, this was our bench in L1 at Barnsley:

Cissoko, EE, Forino, McAtee, Morley, Tutu. And not in squad: Dalby, Dempsey

We're a division above now and if all 8 of them started on Saturday we wouldn't be noticeably weaker!

We were dire at Barnsley mind. And we had ACD, Sheehan and Simons starting who would all play start on Saturday if possible.

Our projected starting XI for this game probably wouldn't beat Barnsley away.

But equally, Preston wouldn't be heavy favourites to beat any half decent L1 side away in a one off game either. So if that's what we are on Saturday, so be it.

Should fancy our chances of getting a result whoever we put out. It's not facing Coventry with a bunch of kids who turned out to be semi-pro standard.

Yeah, in some ways I'm glad we're playing PNE in our current situation, because they're poor, relatively.

On the other hand if only we could play them in another month with a stronger team! If it was West Ham and Wolves first two games I'd take the defeats and move on.

Its a bit early for a crucial 6 pointer, followed by another 2 v QPR and Lincoln.

Been listening to a few podcasts - most have us finishing bottom.

If the transfer window closed tonight, I’d also have us finishing bottom, so it’s not unreasonable.

Thankfully it doesn’t and you’d have to hope that we’ll bring in enough over the next two weeks that materially changes that position.

Yeah most of them were saying we are weaker as a team and they just dont think Schumacher is a good with defence and we're going to really stuggle first half of the season.

Every bugger had us finishing bottom in 2001/02

Enjoy the ride, we have been here many times before

It's gonna be a struggle and our squad is currently a shit show but how are folk having Lincoln above us?

We’re weaker than we were last year when we were massively worse than them. They’ve kept most of their squad and spent money adding a few and you ask why folk are having Lincoln above us? Give your head a wobble you muppet.

Don't remember listening to those podcasts...

Bit faceacious but I honestly can't remember any views we'd get relegated. We looked a poor team but we'd still get top half minimum. This season is different in that the team looks shite, rather than poor, but I still think that managed well we'll stay up and build from there. 15th place this season is my prediction

they lost their manager and top scorer

appointed two coaches with fuck all experience managing

I think we'll finish above then

Think NTT20 had Lincoln being ok as their new manager has traditionally done OK while conceding majority possession to opponents. Or words to that effect.

Had relegated teams us, Blackburn and Preston I think.

We played em twice

We drew twice

The League does not necessarily paint a true picture as neither of us will be playing Burton, Mansfield, Rotherham et al

Plus, their manager has fooked off

Its far less clear cut than you make out

I've absolutely no doubt the people on this podcast know way more than I do about all the managers in the championship and how they play

Lincoln currently have two as they are co-managed

one, Cohen, has only ever been an assistant including SS' assistant at Stoke

the other, Shaw, has had two caretaker gigs (10 games in total, 7 at lincoln, 3 years ago), and one spell at Gainsborough Trinity (31% win percentage)

I don't think there's enough to judge them on how their management or playing style will fare for Lincoln in the Championship

anyway

cock on the block time

we finish above Lincoln

Camped at a youth hostel in the Lakes for a couple of nights about a month back and there was a large group there from their academy.

Got talking to one of the coaches who was really confident because they had both been there under Skubala.

But coaching and management are different gigs.

aye

Sammy Lee

not saying coaches can't become managers

but can't think of any examples of successful / decent coaches who stepped up to manager at the same club

i'm sure there are some like, just not that many

Co-managers rarely work. Always needs to be one voice more senior than the other and whilst they’ll put on a united front, it’s rare that personalities strong enough to back themselves as managers, will concede ideas to another.

One of them will have to ‘drop down’
