Dullest Game You've Ever Attended

Featured Replies

Saturday must have had just about everybody who went trying to remember a more boring afternoon's football.

For me, it has to be the goalless draw against Rochdale at Burnden in our fourth division season.

Mind-numbing. :lazy:

From memory, our first home game of the 89/90 season against Fulham was an absolute shocker!

Norwich, coca cola cup replay on a freezing cold december night sometime in 93/94

0-0 after aet

lost on penalties

I was gonna put that one, sat with mi dad in the Manny Rd seats and I was just happy to be at the football, but he had other ideas and we ended up in the King Bill with plenty of the game to spare. Sh??te crowd too - some things never change

Bolton 0-1 Gillingham, 1985 ish

broke down on way home and missed my own swimming birthday party in the evening

Cliff Thorbunn v Steve Davis at Warrington in 1984.

Far too many to recall but Saturday's game against the Massive has to be up there with the rest of 'em.

Don't you just hate it when teams spoil games you pay good money to watch?

And the penaltys were poor as well, more like back passes to the keeper.

Oxford Away 1996, 0-0 neither team managed a shot on target in torrential rain.

no games at burnden were boring they were all classics.

halifax away re arranged game 0-0 and it pissed down.

Watford at home this season was a shocker

fulham plenty times at burnden, inc the promotion game

fulham last season

in fact, fulham

fulham, fulham, fulham

full stop

not when we get away with it

btw, i was pleased to see city wasting time

pearce didn't seem to have a problem with it on saturday

odd really

John Byrom's Testemonial.

bolton 2 - 0 swindon think it was 99 or 00 not to sure both teams were dreadfull but somehow we scored two goals in injury time. othere than that it has to be that norwich cup match at burnden that has been mentioned already but think that was a bit more fun.

The most exciting thing about the Norwich game at Burnden was half time and everyone jumping up and down to keep warm to that Christmas song Stop the Cavelry.

I'm with Ziggy on this though, Oxford away was shite.

You've just taken the words out of my mouth. Contrary to popular rose tinted belief Burnden Park has seen some absolute, and I mean absolute classic shite games, all forgetable. And believe me the shite in the Premier isn't on the same planet as the shite in the lower leagues.

Luton at home midweek mid 90s springs t mind. a 0.0 shocker. There have been some shockers though - southampton in carling cup a few years ago at Reebok another shocker.

spent ages trying to get the missus to come and watch bolton and she eventually came and saw a goalless draw against Wimbledon at Selhurst Park in 1998ish. It was boring, needless to say it was her first and last match.

A mate of mine in London supports Brentford (poor bastard). Every time I go to a match with him we play like crap - Newcastle away last seaon anf Fulham away the season before

That was on my birthday. Boring and freezing cold. And for a change, I got there early, very early, about 2 hours early, for it.

Once went to PNE v Hereford, jesuuuus I was bored. Tony Ellis, Tony Ellis, Tony Ellis, Tony Ellis.

The Man City game was far from the worst that Bolton have ever played, there are dozens and dozens of matches where we have played worse than that.

When I saw the subject I thought the 0-0 v Rochdale also - that or the 0-0 v Mansfield which must have been the same season.

Not the Trevor Morgan 3-2 game, though, surely? Brilliant stuff!

Christ, I'd blocked that one out! Bo Hansen saved the day, with a good deal of help from Jimmy Glass, who was probably pissed off at having to play in goal.

I gave some serious thought to packing it in that afternoon.
