Sweep Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 and, if we play the game, and believe these figures...................it shows that Chelsea pay out in excess of ?44M in wages just for 8 players - which is just mind blowing
Yossi Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 No 'big' clubs are interested in Gudjohnsen. I hope our rumoured interest isn't true and I reckon if you signed him you'd end up disappointed.
Traf Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 I've a feeling Yossi might be right. I think many of us are viewing Gudjohnsen through rose-tinted spectacles and being nostalgic/sentimental about him. There's no disputing he's a good player, I'm just not convinced the whole fee plus wage deal will give us value for money.

Eidur is a very clever player, but not someone who we should be breaking the bank for.
Zozzy Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Eidur is an outstanding player. If he signed for us now I would fancy us for Uefa Cup qualification.
ph31 Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 We need a creative player to link the midfield and striker, from our current squad only diouf has the composure and awareness to cause problems for decent defences. Eider is a very clever player with great touch and vision, if any of our strikers can get on the same wave length our attacking threat will have a whole new dimension. SIGN HIM!!!
Ani Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 anyone who thinks eidur would not signinficantly improve our team is so wrong it is like a boloke farting in a womans face whilst she licks his arsehole. breaking the bank for him.....at ther price mentioned ?4m even with wages it is worth the investement. especially if ehd disappears and presuming eidur can get through a vigorous medical.
Traf Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 If you're all talking about him replacing Diouf, then yes. If Diouf doesn't leave, the money would be better spent elsewhere.
Sweep Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 If you're all talking about him replacing Diouf, then yes.If Diouf doesn't leave, the money would be better spent elsewhere. Now Traf, I know your love of Diouf if legendary............... But, who would you rather have at the club, next season, EHD or Eidur?
Traf Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Now Traf, I know your love of Diouf if legendary............... But, who would you rather have at the club, next season, EHD or Eidur? That would depend on the fees involved etc. A straight choice though, it'd always be Eidur. His record in England is a goal every 3 games and he's surprisingly still only 29.
YATESY Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Be careful how you step and please mind the pun, but my sister is on the job! They are in Tenerife on holiday and the legend that is Gundi Bergson is in the same hotel. I put it to her to ask the simple questions, is your mate Eidur on his way to an English club and if so, what hope have Bolton got. This has to be a slight improvement on asking the man in the pub? Surely?
tylswhite Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Now Traf, I know your love of Diouf if legendary............... But, who would you rather have at the club, next season, EHD or Eidur? For me i would have Eidur. Diouf was too hit and miss last season, Eidur has more of an eye for goal and we struggled for them last season!

Zozzy Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 But, who would you rather have at the club, next season, EHD or Eidur?Well thats a 'No Brainer' as they say in the U. S. of A Do you think the likes of Chelsea and Barca would take a 2nd look at Diouf ?

Lever Ender in L.A. Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 Spoke with him last year for a few minutes when he was over here pre-season with Barca, said he would love to play for us again one day...hope that day comes real soon.. EYES RIGHT
YATESY Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 aye, we're signing a 7 foot norwegian bloke and jussis joining boro I bloody hope so, Braaten on stilts?
revdishydave Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 i think eidur, or a player of his ability, would be key to us becoming a good side. i think he would bring a whole new dimension to our game. i also feel he would be a little more consistant.
Mounts Kipper Posted July 1, 2008 Author Posted July 1, 2008 Thought long and hard about about whether he would be a success back at Bolton, and my view is he would, played behind the front 2 in the hole with a solid midfield he would have the time to use his class to great effect, for 4 million would be a snip, get him back asap.

In there is the flaw in your point of view.
