Why are the Megson knockers making out that Meite was some sort of world beater? He was poor, made many mistakes, and is a sulky arse.

Having not read all responses excuse repeating others but i feel Shittu has been brought in as a third centre half to cover our current two.

Having seen Meite last year and viewing his attitude, fitness and distribution at Chorley the sooner he leaves the better

 

I havn't reated Shittu highly previously but had the same opinion of A O'Brien when at Portsmouth and i feel he was our best player last year so I wait with interest before passing further comment!

Good point,think most on here would have been thinking the same when O'brien joined us.

the one thing i remember shittu for doing is mis judging the flight of a certain paul robinson free ick it bouncing a good 5ft behind him bouncing over foster and scoring, other than that i think hes an alright signing, quite young for a centre back who has been around for so long.

I always thought Foster called for it tbh!

 

My opinion on him has been one of a strong, experienced centre half who is not the best technically. Sort of like a compromise of O'Brien (experience) and Cahill(strength, power) therefore hopefully allowing him to fill in for both with at least some success.

My point is that the season previous with TBH or Faye at the side of him he seemed a much more competent player, who I always thought was quick and a great man marker against the quicker players. Therefore I still think with good management he could still offer something.

 

However I don't think Shittu is a bad signing either but would have preffered both of them to be honest, with Fojut having a full season away on loan.

Shittu has had one indifferent season in the Prem and spent the rest of his career playing for the likes of Blackpool, QPR and Watford in the lower leagues. He's not good enough even as a squad player in my opinion.

How much experience did Faye have? None.

 

Look, every single Watford fan I've spoken to (both of them) are gutted. He has been their best player during his time there. Also, a couple of QPR supporting mates have said that were fully expecting Shittu to be picked up by one of the bigger clubs at some stage.

 

It's not meant to be the signing that makes us all go 'wooo-hoooo'. It's a signing that gives us solidity in one position and allows us to offload Meite, if that opportunity arises.

When we played watford at home he was awesome, defended everything and was a rock for the 90 minutes I saw, superb in the air and physically very strong, i am happy as he is a decent cover for AOB and Cahill.

I'd extended that to 95 minutes, unfortunately there were 96 minutes played and the last minute wasn't too good. Still reckon he'll do alright here, won't set world alight, but isn't meant to, he'll be (IMO) solid and strong when he's needed and hopefully won't be a mardy bum like Meite when he ain't playing.

fortunately danny hasn't adopted his step mums name, pyarface. never liked those double barrelled names for footie players, just not right.

Only thing that Meite had was pace. The second season showed his true colours, regardless as to who was alongside him.

 

Terrible passer of the ball, got caught in possession stupidly, and I'm sure Marseille fans didn't rate him.

 

Shittu should be as good, if not better, and steady. Might be a bit slower, but considering Meite shouldn't wear a Bolton shirt again, it's a good deal.
