Kevin davies was at the centre of everyting positive about bolton today, I think if we could go 4-4-2 with elmander and davies closer together we would have a very complimentary effect on our play.

i thought we won the game in the middle of the park when mccann and muambe closed them down all day.

also did anyone else notice how often it was our 'lazy' captain chasing things down in their half ?

things i said today...

1. he'll will never score that lad....when cahill missed an early header.

2. kev d is looking isolated out on the right...about 30 seconds before he scored.

3. matt taylor does not look fit...just before he scored.

next game i am backing ao'b for first goal as he will never ever score for us.

Jussi, flawless performance, save of the season so far =D>

Al Habsi would have caught it one-handed!

Brilliant save, also fully agree with McCann as MoM: he dominated their midfield and continually broke their play up.

Elmander is a good player. The thing is though every time he gets the ball he is on his own. The rest of the team are too slow to come out and support him.

[/quote

spot on

hes got to be better at holding the ball, then

i thought davies and and elmander seemed either unfit or just plain lazy.

Homo, I had to read that three times. Elmander, yes. Looks like he needs a couple more under his belt to be fully match fit. Davies?? Sorry mate, can't see it. Even the commentators were saying great things about him and even went back to that superb tackle v Arsenal. Led the line brilliantly yesterday.

McCann was outstanding.

Ladies and gents, lets hope this gets sticky!

Matty T

Good strike son!

more to follow?

Just got home. What a Great trip, did the official coaches get back before us? Never come back from Upton Park via Newark, Lincoln, the outskirts of Hull and Leeds before. :::lol::: Warren the driver is a Legend.

Good atmosphere in our end. Nice touch from Matty Taylor straight after the wonder goal, coming into the Bolton fans give the cockney stewards something to panic about.

JLloyd started the game really well winning tackles and getting down the wing. Outstanding save from Jussi. I thought we dominated the midfield with superb tackling from Muamba. Great performance from McCann that will shut his critics up, now we know why he has been used often from the start or coming on as sub to tighten things up. he's had a few iffy games but to be fair he played really well in pre-season.

I'm rambling on a bit now cos I'm all excited. :yahoo: Great game of football, and a top set of lads on the trip :drinks:

Oh yeh , another brilliant performance from Davies, what else do you expect from him. 3 good goals from us (with a little help from England's number 1).

When Taylor first came on he looked out of sorts not controlling it and basically lacking in confidence. but that only lasted a few minutes :::lol::: Just think how much confidence he will get now. He seems to be the type of lad that needs it. The wanderers fans shouted his name loud and proud for ages. The crowd played a big part once again . PROUD TO BE A WANDERER

You lot need a dose of Tony C.

Face it, that was shocking to watch.

Lumping it long. Gardner miscontrolling the ball at every opportunity.

Aob hitting the ball in the air twice in about 5 seconds attempting to clear it.

Elmander having one real chance but hitting a powder puff shot at the keeper. He looked slow and cumbersome at times and not a ?11m player.

We scored twice from set plays where THEIR goalie fcked up. If Green had done what he is paid to - we'd have lost yesterday. End of.

Amazing how many pairs of rose tinted glasses were bought in Bolton yesterday.

As for the wonder goal - watch the replay from behind the goal again. Its the ball, not the skill of the player that scored that goal. Green did have it covered - but it took a SECOND unexpected swerve and left the keeper flat footed.

Great 3 points. Much needed. But we're still sh1te to watch.

Put the rod away N. No fecker is going to fall for that one. Then again, you never know..........................................

Jussi's save yesterday will probably be save of the season, however he should of done better when they scored

Why didn't he come charging out with his fist straight into coles head?????

sorry, imo davies looked very lethargic, by his own standards i may add...

and i agree, elmander lacked support at times, seemed to be fighting a losing battle on his own.

not a complaint, merely an observation.

need to build on this against rovers in couple of weeks now...

If you watch it again, don't think he sees Cole in the equation at all and is diving to save the initial header.

Cole just nips in and Jussi is left stranded.

Not sure if its entirely his fault or Cole's marker.

My original point was from the heart and not a feeeeshing trip. We are poor.

I dont think Davies played as well as everyone is making out, he was ok but not brilliant. Elmander was breathing through his arse after about 10 mins, he will definatley be better in a few games time. I think Samuel and Gardner are forming a good partnership down the left.

The signs are very encouraging and we will get better and better if we keep our players fit. :yahoo:

Kinell, where do i start? footballs all about opinions, and in my opinion it was a very enjoyable game with some decent football played , and again imo - Bolton fully deserved their victory. I think for anyone to find fault with yesterdays performance must have been watching the game through Tony C's dark cloud tinted glasses.

Is that Ashey far right?

Is that Ashey far right?

You getting him mixed up with Bolty?

if getting the ball to the half way line, losing possession and then defending, and then getting the ball back to the half way line, losing possession and defending is entertaining - then I've been misinformed. Oh, and not forgetting the panic long ball to no-one in particular when we don't know what better else to do with it.

up until the first goal it was abysmal. unless you call having four corners and doing nothing in particular with them entertaining.

after the two quick goals - it was enjoyable for the simple fact that we were in front...... the "even sh1t tastes like chocolate" syndrome.

at 2-1 we weren't really in any control.

yes, great to see McCann step in, dribble the ball out to the half way line - excellent piece of play - oh, but then we lost the ball and it came straight back again with him then out of position.

better opposition would have sh?t us for breakfast yesterday.

there were plenty of faults yesterday.

thats most folks problem on here, performances are either diabolical or world class.

there are so many aspects to the game which were at different levels.

still plenty of room for improvement.

Is there owt wrong in just wanting to enjoy the win after what we've been through so far this season FFS? Analyse to your hearts content. The points are in the bag and the records will show we won 3-1 at Upton Park. Full stop.
