Thats not what you said. You said proven performers, in that case no chance. ?7 miliion isnt enough for a proven player in todays market, thats why we are going for players who could with a push in the right direction become a proven quality player.

By all accounts Kightly is a good player. We were very strongly linked to James Harper during the summer so an attacking midfield does seem to be one of the areas Megson wants to strengthen the team.

 

As I'm sure you know player contracts do not seem to stop players leaving clubs if they really want too.

 

It all depends I guess on how much we want him - and how much he wants to come to us!

 

I guess however in this credit crunch era that clubs like ours will not be willing to pay more than we can afford on transfers and also accept very good offers when they do come along.
