January Transfers

Who/What do we need to bring in come January, when Mr Gartside opens his cheque book...

Wayne Bridge is apparently on his way out of Chelski, would be a good addition IMO.

Creative Midfielder too... dunno who though !

It's for Kightly

Should of done it over a season ago, he has always had the potential and wouldn't have cost half as much, I'll take the credit for that recommendation :pardon:

On a serious note, if we did sign him then surely he would take the right of the front 3, meaning Super Kev's place would be put in doubt.

we've also been looking at Joe Ledley him and Kightly will do me for january business

I would be ecstatic if we got both of those, but surely we would be talking fairly big money for them both. I suppose the attraction of the Premiership to them both might put pressure on the teams to let them leave, I still think for the 2 we would be looking at between ?10m-15m. With these 2 and a centre back (lad from Sheff Wed or Jack Cork) then it would be a successful transfer window for me.

can't see wolves accepting ?5m for kightly...

Wolves are currently pissing that Championship.

They're under no pressure to sell. In fact they're under more pressure to get promoted.

They'd be mad to sell Kightly for ?5m IMO.

One of yesterdays rags had us linked with Rickie Lambert, a striker from Bristol Rovers for around ?1m.

He'd do a job for us.

I agree Traf, which is why I said the pair would cost us ?10m-15m. I wouldn't see Wolves selling for less than ?8m-9m, but Cardiff possibly slightly less as they won't get promoted so maybe ?6m-7m, probably more.

I would be happy with getting 1 of them. 2 and we'll be investigated for Bungs again

But your ?10m-?15m is now ?14m-?16m!

?16m might get them, ?10m wouldn't.

you would be happy spending fifteen million on two championship players? we can get players who are proven performers abroad for a lot cheaper. whats all the fuss about beevers. sheffield wednesday concede goals for fun. I've not seen him live, and i'm guessing you haven't so whats your reason for signing him? We have to look at better alternatives than overpriced championship players.

Why shouldn't we buy to improve? I remember making this case when Dean Ashton was at Crewe.

bullshit

yet again from F365's gossip pages

Bolton boss Gary Megson is set to offer Rochdale striker Will Buckley, 20, a dream move to the Premier League.

no idea on this guy

bullshit

Indeed, our Great British Pound is almost worthless abroad at the moment.

allardyce didn't ever want ashton

thought he was too similar to davies and a sicknote waiting to happen

Any strikers knocking around with the surname Butler

They'd be a deadly duo

Even better if they had really pasty torso's and orange heads

sorry to keep reguritating F365 but this their view on Beevers from their top 10 championship players

9) Mark Beevers (Sheffield Wednesday)

Described by F365 editor Sarah Winterburn as a future England captain, Beevers has the sort of commanding air that such a position demands. Only just 19, you would think that Beevers still has to physically develop, but he is already a dominating presence in the Wednesday back four, so much so that he was voted the club's player of the year last term - his first full season.

Kightly and Ledley are both in there too.

allardyce didn't ever want ashton

he is that alright, they reckon West Ham will try to offload him in January...............somebody would have to be bonkers to splash out big money on him

Never going to happen.

Rochdale fans were booing him earlier this season - hasn't got the quality to make the step-up from what I've seen.

(Yes, I do go to Spotland quite often).

Buy for ?2m, sell for ?5m, that's the name of the game.

Indeed, our Great British Pound is almost worthless abroad at the moment.

would not say that, I will gladly give you 1 euro for every pound you have.

As will all the other bureaux de change.

But hurry! It'll soon be less than that!
