January Transfers

Who/What do we need to bring in come January, when Mr Gartside opens his cheque book...

Wayne Bridge is apparently on his way out of Chelski, would be a good addition IMO.

Creative Midfielder too... dunno who though !

I like the look of Beevers.

I'm partial to a bit of beaver meself....................I'll get me coat.

your right and as nolan is team captain he wont be droped!

so you do agree then that if we are to buy an attacking midfielder, it will be in place of Davies?

davies is now our weakest footballer.

but defenders hate playing against him, he causes them problems because of his 'other' strengths.

if we spent 10m on a player, any player, i am struggling to see where they would fit in at the moment.

our squad is still very weak

they maybe in form but I would not lose any sleep if we splashed out money to directly replace

Davies

Nolan

AOB

Samuel

McCann

if Megson approches January like he did last year then we'll do alright I think

agree with that apart from Nolan Can't see Megson wantiong to lose his influence from the team

Centre half and attack minded mifielder are the priority, I would take the serbian from Liege, Jovanovic, would probably loan a Centre half for cover with a view to signing him at the end of his loan period.

Michael Kightly from Wolves.

Offer them ?7m

Sell him on to one of the big 4 after he has taken the premierrship by storm.

Or George Boyd from Peterborough (Not sure if already plays on the left though)

Can't find the link but I read somewhere that Megson said he would be looking at Championship players because we couldn't compete when loking at good foreign/premiership players.

I don't usually disagree with you Zico, but I think if we bought a quality midfield playmaker, one of our recognised midfielders would make way for him before Davies. McCann is a great option on the bench to bring on in the 2nd half when we need to hang on to a lead.

I also think Gardner is a great option to bring off the bench in the 2nd half when we are behind.

Yeah that was the point, as much as i love big Kev i agree with you that he will be the one to drop out the starting 11

Elano, out of favour at city and could fill the creative void, but TBH I don't think he fits into Megson's work ethic

Last year he disappeared when it went a bit cowd. Players like that, we can do without.

Timo Hildebrand was released from Valencia today. I'm not saying he's better then anything we have but there has been a lot sniffing around our two keepers. If one was to leave then we'd need a replacement, this guy is top draw and free. He's only been released because he never saw eye to eye with Emery. He did really well when Koeman was manager.

That's not a bad shout.

Good find.

Championship players are often every bit as expensive as those from foreign clubs

i know we have reached the dizzying heights of being 5 points clear of the relegation zone...but i think that might be pushing it.

The squad is the smallest in the league and so far we have been very lucky with only a few injuries and suspensions. Would be worth trying to get a few youngsters on loan, scott sinclairs not getting a game at chelsea, danny welbech from united?? And Bullard would be an excellent signing.

I think we should put a ban on anyone mentioning Jimmy Bullard

been there, done that

they don't want to sell

he doesn't want to leave

Fulham are doing well

Is this an African Nations year? Loads of them disappear when it gets cold.

Is it just me that has seen quite a few reports recently saying that we have quite a bit of money to spend in January. From most other clubs like Spurs, Chelsea, Pompey and a few others they have all been saying that it is unlikely they will be spending much in the transfer window, but all I hear about us is that we have money to spend and are looking to bring a few players in.

Let the rumours begin. :yahoo:

That was what we were led to believe a couple of months ago but I think the latest signs have been of funds being limited. May depend on how many points we get between now and mid January.

Weren't we linked with Jack Cork not long since?

Can play along the back line and currently on loan at Southampton from Chelsea. Think he came on as a sub

for England U21s last time out. Young and English = fits into Megson's transfer policy,

and the son of the coach to boot.

hmm, nailed on? ;)
