Baba O'Riley Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Did Lower Nags become Oliver's in the mid-late 80's? There's a poem about all the pubs that once existed along Churchgate, some of the owd uns might remember it, lines such as "The Legs of Man that couldn't walk, the Kings Head that couldn't talk"...... was printed in a Bolton Beer Guide, early 90's. Will try to dig it out....

Greenalls leased the building from Burtons and were forced to shut the pub, when Burtons refused to renew the lease, because they wanted to use the space for warehousing. From reading some of the posts on here recently, I presume there'll be other poster who had the same problem. This site's full of Dick Emerys!
