5umm1t Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 I think Megson will get us relegated this season - that's my opinion - I think he's a crap very limited manager - keeping us up post Sammy Lee doesn't warrant much praise some yes but not much - give him a chance why should we anyone who says he can build long term success at bolton is wrong in my opinion. Replacements - Gary Johnson/ Owen Coyle/ Aidy Boothroyd/ Mark Hughes (when he gets sacked from tinsel town) - to name but a few all have pros and cons but all the pros out way Megsons - excellent communicators and i believe would get the majority of fans backing from day one and start to build the club and supporters enthusiasm back up instead of treading water at best. Curve Ball - Louis Van Gaal at AZ Alkmaar - he can't be on mega bucks there he might be tempted by a stint at prem and obviously not afraid of smaller unfashionable clubs - would attract decent players

HazzyinBolton Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 as far as im aware, though i could be wrong (info from friend of a friend and all that).... allardyce only signed players when their agents recommended them or he asked his chummy agents friends (we all know who they are) for a player, we had no european scouting system as such back then. which i found suprising. megson now has 3 european scouts and actual system in place. athough apparently one of these guys is now doing conference games for some reason? and im only member 14 so Sorry. Don't know who your friend of a friend is but this is utter bollox! Our chief scout under Allardyce was one of the most respected guys within the game - Jack Chapman. Jack unfortunately retired pretty much as Sam left Bolton due to ill health. Wherever possible, Jack & Sam would watch the players before signing them (not always possible in transfer windows etc) after they'd already been watched by our scouts - which included people like ex Wanderer Paul Jones who for example has been out watching players in the far east for us. http://www.bwfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Gener...~771114,00.html As foer suggesting that Allardyce only signed players when his "chummy" agents recommended them. Not sure what your point is here. Are you suggesting that Megson doesn't deal with agents - because we'll be left with a pretty poor crop of players to choose from if he doesn't.

Rembrandt Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 we never beat utd at home under alladyce megson did it at the first attempt after the initial good results against utd we were subject to a d?cking every time we met, home and away, with the number 4 making a regular appearance on the score sheet basically, under alladyce, we generally had the measure of liverpool and arsenal at home that bloke just distorted things a little to give the impression it was better than it was fresh on the back of sh?t run that involved the top 4 Aw, don't exaggerate, Zico. We got a couple of home draws where we conceded equalisers in the last minute each time. Hmm .... sounds familiar.
