STA are shit, never call back Qantas are looking at a price? Star Alliance don't have a bloody phone number on their website I'm at work at the moment, and I can't remember the name of the company I used. I'll find out tonight for you though. About ?200 cheaper than eberywhere else. STA are rip off merchants and I reckon a good 20% of the cost of your flight pays for their nice shiny marketing packs. Might be worth looking into booking your flights seperately if you can be arsed? If I went again I'd definately do this as it allows you to be much more flexible and will probably save you a few quid in the long run. Especially if you end up staying somewhere much longer than you anticpated like most people do. You might need to alter your proposed route as well! Sounds like a great trip though!
Horwich Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Thats not really "round the world" Its like "to the end and back"
The True Marple White Posted September 10, 2009 Author Posted September 10, 2009 I know, but thats the key places I want to go! Cheers KW, if you can get the details that would be good!

Thinking about it - you might be best off with a return flight to Oz. They stop in Bangkok anyway and most airlines will allow you to stay there for up to three months without increasing the price of your ticket. I'd book a return flight to NZ from the East Coast of Australia once you're over there. Dirt Cheap. Can't help with Dubai though! Still be a belting trip!

kent_white Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Just remembered - it was Claire at Travel Nation www.travel-nation.co.uk 01273 320 580 She might not be there now though - but she was really helpful (and honest) 3 years ago when I booked...! Worth a bash!

Return to Oz would be cheapest. I'd be tempted to not bother with Dubai, maybe go somewhere else. Plenty of cheap options from Oz to NZ, Jetstar and Virgin Blue worth looking at. Sign up with www.kayak.co.uk to find your cheapest fare, checks almost every combination of airline, and you avoid paying someone elses commission that way.

superjohnmcginlay Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Sorry to hijack, but would these sort of companies be ideal for honeymoons too im starting to think about what to do for mine next year?
Sweep Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 I'd be tempted to not bother with Dubai, maybe go somewhere else. I also wouldn't bother with Dubai if your doing this kind of trip. It's an OK place, but nothing to get very excited about, I would rather get to Hong Kong instead, that's a far better city IMO
The True Marple White Posted September 10, 2009 Author Posted September 10, 2009 (edited) i have friends and work colleagues out there, so Dubai is a must while on route! Ive promised them lunch at the Burj! Edited September 10, 2009 by The True Marple White
Ani Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 travel bag might be able to help. watch out for sales from BA not rock bottom for prices but they do have some great deals. when i went to Oz they were offering free stop offs for 3 days in singapore. was under ?400 return.

Guest squidgy66 Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Just seen this. Trailfinders is about the biggest specialised travel agent that deals with stuff like this http://www.trailfinders.com/
pike_mill_white Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Expedia and the likes also do this - just choose the multi destination option and stick it all in there. I would imagine they are as cheap as the next man.
SatanGreavsie Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 i have friends and work colleagues out there, so Dubai is a must while on route! Ive promised them lunch at the Burj! save money - tell them they missread and you'd actually promise them lunch in Bury
