Though his crime was terrible beyond understanding, he is also a reminder of the shame of others. Just as no one knows what made him kill James Bulger, nobody knows what Furies drove him, hated and hunted, to where he is today. well set about discovering the furies but do it while he's banged up...use a cattle prod if necessary...wire the bastard up, i really don't care it's alright taking the high ground and looking down on the tabloids while doffing caps to the broadsheets, but ffs, the bigger picture here is that the 'educated ytpes' reading the broadsheets are the ones who have shaped policty to a point where this shit is out and free to do it again

frank_spencer
I have no sympathy for Venables, but justice come before vengance in my eyes. If those who are educated in these things deem it necessary for what he's been hauled back in for to remain out of the public eye until at least after the investigation is complete. Venables should never have been let out but due to the intricacies and failings of the british justice system he was give a second chance, by all accounts he's roally screwed things up. But the system is in place for a reason and just because the baying masses don't like it because a headline case is in the media it can't just be tossed aside. Smiley
Whilst we are saying that the system has failed with Venables - maybe, just maybe, its been a massive success with Robert Thompson. For all we know he may be a shining light in his community, etc. We really don't know do we. One of them was pretty sick, twisted & fucked up in the first place - was it Venables or Thompson? Both really, Thompson was really fcuked up, abused, bullied, sexually assaulted by everyone, its strongly suspected that it was he that Sexually assaulted the poor little baby, and Venables that started the violence, and struck the killer blows(s). BOTH I heard, though I don't know where, that one of those responsible for their care during the time spent 'rehabilitating' that, when told one of them had re-offended, said she expects it to be Thompson and was actually surprised at it being Venables. If this woman is such a good psychologist, are we now looking at Thompson re-offending as well or did she get her judgement so seriously wrong? If the latter, what do we pay these so-called experts for?

The thing is you don't know whats happened since they were released, perhaps Thompson found himself a good group of friends who have ensured he kept well away from any temptation to re-offend and Venebles got himself in with a bad crowd. One of the ways rehabilitation fails is when it stops as soon as the criminal is released into societyt.

Pablo
Some detective who worked the original case was on R5 and reckoned that Thompson was the evil one, Venables was the lesser of the two. Venables said "I killed the baby", during the trial. Venables took the lead, and was the one who led most of the Assault, the Sexual assault was Thompson. Witness at the Canal said Venables told Thompson to "Get hold of his hand". Venables is also diagnosed with 'Goffman Complex' This is derived from Erving Goffman............. the best example i can give you is the comparison of lets say a child in the classroom, the teacher is conveying the subject, be it maths. english whatever, the child in the front row is nodding his head, displaying the bodies exterior to be listening and taking the subject in as to display a characteristic which is one that understands........ in laymans terms the boys head is always elsewhere but convinces its audience otherwise. A leading Psychologist from Oxford University was given the task of surveying both at the time and categorically stated in his report that Venables displayed contempt for the crime in a way he'd never seen in his 30 years of practice, evaluating that he was not only the domineering of the two but also the catalyst. Pablo
So to paraphrase that Pabbers, (in a Bricktop stylee) he's a horrible little cunt! Of the highest order, with all that info....why was he released, knowing this info about him. And the thought of him at Goodison, possibly rubbing shoulders with Families, maybe even Bulgers family and friends, does worry me. I take my boy every home game now, god know who we could be sat next to, next game.

Happy Wanderer
if his first names dave, and hes from fleetwood. that could be your man This appears to be a rumour doing the rounds which has almost ruined the guys life. Hes a married man with a young child living in Fleetwood. People need to be careful what they say about others without any actual evidence. Pablo
Ive had the text twice, but the 2nd one talks about Irlam, were Venables he did spend time, its from this location were he was taken to Old trafford for days out. These txts seem to becoming a mixture of poeple making stuff up, and parts of actuall true events. Ive also heard from a very very good source, that with all the people saying they would do this and that to him, well ive heard the quote "You would need a spartan army to take him down". The guy is huge, and that was when he was 17 ! Which does go some way of explaining his job as a bouncer for the last 3 years.
