Funny or not?

I've always liked him myself. I'm not easily offended (which should be obvious, being on this forum!) but I'm beginning to think he's trying too hard now and I don't think it's doing him any favours in a comedy sense.

Watched an episode of his Tramadol Nights (or whatever it's called) last week and found it quite funny.

Think Kevin Bridges is really funny too, was meant to go to his stand-up at the Lowry recently.

Think you're right, I also think he's gone beyond a point of no return now so short of reinventing himself what else is there to offer?

There only so many times you can tell jokes on TV about rape, peados, disabled folk and other stuff which was generally taboo not so long ago, before the novelty value stops and it becomes boring.

That said, the joke about Harvey was funny. Out of order to a degree but made me laugh. Then again, I'm still laughing at Kermit, 5 hours after seeing it.

Someone pointed out on another forum that without the editing of Mock the week reiging in some of his more crude stuff he's more open to people getting offended.

When people get offended by him and complain his prescence in the public eye goes up.

If people watch his programme or go to his shows and are offended by it then they shouldn;t be watching his show as he sets out to offend every fucker.

I think he's hit and miss, comes out with some absolute crackers and makes me laugh, but then seems to try to hard to be controversial, he's class on mock the week and that joke about queer eye for the straight guy nearly ended me.

I like his new show, I'd say I like his stand up on that more than the sketches, his joke about Katie Prices son wasn't even funny imo though, not because it was uncalled for/controversial just the joke itself didn't get a laugh.

stand up is funny but the sketches in tramadol nights are dog wank!

The Knight Rider sketch wasn't that bad!

went watching him once with jules darby

came to the conclusion that you just need to watch him once on mock the week and that's enough

growing a beard doesn't constitute new material

thumbs down for me

The Knight Rider sketch wasn't that bad!

Are you on glue? It was painful to watch. The only one that was funny was loose women iran.

He isant that funny any more.. To Repetitive.

mock the week aye. anything else, nah not really

Always thought he was on the edge pretty good, however went to his live gig in Preston recently & 95% of his routine was very funny but he

occasionally went too far particularly with a gag about Madeline Mcann , I sort of look at him now & think he has an issue or two.

Best comedian out there for me at the minute. My opinion of course.

Rhod Gilbert for me.

Oh look at me, I'm hard, I'm edgy; no you're not, you're a ginger Jocko cunt whose genuine wit is getting lost under the one-trick determination to shock. Puerile shite dressed up as cutting edge.

I think the proof might be in his book which (other than a few pages which were side spittingly funny) was wank.

A post modern chubby brown.

Not just me then.

Until very recently I thought he was the dogs and very very funny.

But I think he's peaked and is on the decline now.

His new series is dog shit.

Thought he was OK when he came on the scene but he tried too hard to shock rather than trying to be original.

His book was crap.

Even Fred Eyre's autobiography was funnier.

Mick the week he was good, saw tremadol nights and thought it was utter gash

Rhod Gilbert is funny but is in danger of over stepping it with that show on BBC 1

He used to make me piss on Mock the Week but his routine seems tired now. Not heard the joke about Jordans son, was it actually funny?

Something about Jordan and Peter Andre locked in a fierce court battle regarding custody of Harvey. Loser gets the kid!

They seem to have stopped acknowledging Dwight Yorke's part in all of this. Does he get him at weekends?
