Superb find!! Obviously I’d love my Dad to be still alive (sadly at 105 it would be wishful thinking) but it’s stuff like this that rings so many bells about stuff he told me By 1945 he’d be

There's some weird shit on youtube when you look

(Holden kicks Elmaders arse if you can't be bothered watching)

anthill mob top boys were by the camera calling for riochs sacking

That game was the start of a long unbeaten run if i'm not mistaken

Oh yeah.. Elton Welsby's a cunt

Apologies if this has been covered before but I hadn't seen it,

Excellent to see Dave Higson getting the recognition that he deserved!

Also good coverage of Shrewsbury away first game of the season, I fairly enjoyed that day out.

Some brilliant footage there. Our travelling support was pretty impressive back then.

'4,600? There must have been 3,000 from bloody Bolton'

is that not tony kelly running out with shrewsbury ?

Was in Florida for that Shrews match. Ended up phoning up club call (remember that?) from Port Charlotte for the score. Celebrating goals like that are a fing of the past now - I feel sorry todays fans.

The second game on that clip was Lincoln City away int Cup. Live on the telly Saturday night - hands up them who went.

I was trying to forget him, not one of our better signings

you are.

Who else did we sign from shrewsbury that season?

Just Kelly and Brown by my memory

anyone know a paddock regular called 'weasel' that is on this clip?

!

My dog, Frank, well she died last week and the kids want another. After watching this it's getting the name McGinlay. He was sommat special to us, and no mistake.

Topic should be pinned for future reference.

Someone mentioned earlier about our away support on a lot of these videos, it looks like we took loads all over the place. There's one on our season review from about 1993/94 where we drew 3-3 at Grimsby and people kept going on the pitch, thousands of us there!

Was the first game of the season, I remember a lad going onto the pitch when the teams were warming up, running the length of the pitch with a ball and hammering into the top corner, then ran back to our end to tremendous cheers and back into the crowd, nowadays he would have been tazered by the time he got to the half way line and be banned from football grounds for life.

It was a totally different atmosphere and experience watching wanderers then... but then again, it might just be me getting old.

edit to say.... I'm having 2nd thoughts about that incident... it may have been at Port Vale a couple of seasons later.

I was at that - wasn't it Supa John's first game for us??
