Superb find!! Obviously I’d love my Dad to be still alive (sadly at 105 it would be wishful thinking) but it’s stuff like this that rings so many bells about stuff he told me By 1945 he’d be

Forgot how good tomo was, happy days.

See .......... Burnden WAS always packed.

-ish.

Great to see Peter Thompson again. And the great youth scheme we had then - Paul Jones, Gary Jones, Allardyce, Reid, Whatmore all coming through around the same time.

Good to see free-kick routines worked on in training, and good to see a centre-forward flicking the ball on for another forward playing further up. If only we had a centre-forward who could do that now ...............

How cool was Paul Jones with the 2 penalties

Went to Bristol City in the cup think it was the year after 1980 the match was postponed on the previous weekend and was played midweek for some reason the Bolton fans were on the large paddock mixed in with the Bristol fans, they loved Tricky Tommy Ritchie he ripped us apart that night, on our coach was a certain Wanderers way poster resplendent in black and white check chef trousers a Bolton shirt which was not common in them days and his famous horn. Happy days:)

Bristol bastard City !!! I was at this one (that's me jumping about on 1-08 :) ) & went there quite a few times in the 70's & 80's & we lost every bastard time I went, a couple of times it was fairly dodgy & then I didn't go the one time we did win. Bastard place.

Just looked it up, & we lost there10 consecutive times, & have only won there once since 1907, which was in 1994. Proper bogey ground.

20 seconds in; what was the Oldham player trying to do knocking the ball back to his own corner?

Also there are a few Asians on the Embankment which was surprising.

It's John Platt who later played for us under John MacGovern.

it was platt and the original Zico Bell, both later played or us and were shit.

you're saying it's not damper?

I didn't know you could have 2 gingers in the same team.

Debbie was not quite jail bait, she had just turned 16 before Alan Groves started slipping her one, then he goes and dies with an heart attack. I wonder what caused it ?

Cruyff turn by Thompson for the first
