Non League Chatter

A few weeks away yet, but this could be the biggest attendance Victory Park have had for many a year with it being a title cruncher. Come on Chester beat those Leigh stealing body-snatchers.

A date for your diaries, on Saturday 4th July Atherton Collieries will play Bolton Wanderers, Neil Lennon has said he will bring a good squad down

  • I'm very fair and even handed on this one. I hate both sets of cunts.

  • Said nobody ever

No worries,

Do any of you Bolton fans on this thread go and watch your team anymore, or do you go and watch non league pub teams because it's become fashionable? Bet you all sup pale ale and have tat sleeves and beards too.

I did my non league stint in the 80s when they were my local team

Sacked it off when they relocated to the outskirts of wigan then started following my next nearest local team

Good luck to Hyde tonight against MK Dons

My team started the season making it look as though I was was watching a non-league side. Fortunately, we may have turned the corner.

Still got season tickets at BWFC for me, my Mrs and my lad and rarely miss a home game with a decent amount of aways thrown in. Mrs will be at the Macron tomorrow but I’ll be missing it to go to South Shields (and likewise the Barnsley game in December when Colls are at Scarborough). Seen us play at home to Norwich and Barnsley enough times in my life whereas given South Shields’ and Scarborough’s likely progress up the leagues it’s unlikely Colls will be playing them very often in the future, so a good chance to get them ticked off with a good day out (or weekend in the case of Scarborough) to boot.

As opposed to watching a pub team that cost millions?

3G pitch on fire haha

had a small bet on Hyde at 10/1

They were 12/1 on Coral, got them in a double with Oxford at Port Vale.

Feel a bit sorry for hyde. They'll get a fine and fixing that pitch won't be cheap. Eats into the prize money.

Gumbo will know this best but what's people's experiences with hyde fans? Come across them a few times and they've got a little hard core of nutters. Went to a game there a few years back and the abuse a group of them gave the manager was unreal. Bloke tried to climb the fence. Then at Rammy they damaged a stand and away they were less then magnanimous in victory.. still feel sorry for the club though

Had a set to with them a few years ago at Leigh when they were singing ‘swing low’ for a shot over the bar and they didn’t understand the significance. Always considered them to have a general higher-than-average bunch of mongtards but in fairness they’ve retained a huge percentage of their Conference crowds and have a decent number of ‘singers’ relative to their level, even if it is entirely the generic songbook of English football. In my mind they’re a much bigger club than their current level and are a Conference North club in all but name as has been agreed by the three of us en route to South Shields at the minute.

I'd def agree with that. Bring a good atmosphere Hyde and a gòod away support. How was South Shields? Hoping to go this season.

dunno about that , but didnt tranmere used to play their home games on fridays specially for those types, so they didnt clash with the liverpool/everton home game on the saturday.

Had the feel of an FA Trophy game. They’ve got a goal in front when you turn up and see their crowd. Friendly lot all in all though. Will confidently predict that they’re the new Fleetwood and will get in to the Football League but will hit a ceiling with 3,000 a week.

You lads missed a good win for your team Bolton today.

Be a while before you can say that about your team Everton. Hope for a similar result when I’m at Preston in a fortnight (12 hours before setting off for Brighouse watching the Colls) or making use of our season tickets at home to Reading the following Tuesday ????
