athywhite1958 Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 The pitch held up OK first half but ended up a mess at full time, good 1-0 win though which takes us to 4th, Newton Aycliffe away on Tuesday in the Vase, if it's cancelled again the game will go to next Saturday meaning the Linnets game will be later in the season Quote
fester58 Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 if its called off tues night, does it get moved to colls for sat Quote
athywhite1958 Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 The laws for the Vase are slightly different to others, it is in the hands of the FA Vase committee and Newton Aycliffe's chairman is on the committee (so we've been told)Â so there is no chance of the tie being swapped to Atherton Quote
athywhite1958 Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 The Northern League will do anything to get one of their teams to the Vase final Quote
fester58 Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 very sad that. if the competition take preference over promotion and relegation. lets hope it gets played tomorrow night then, really looking forward already to sat game, might even have a few light ales Quote
Traf Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 7-0 win for Salford at the weekend  Rugby League? Quote
athywhite1958 Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Pitch inspection underway at Newton Aycliffe Quote
fester58 Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 playing devils advocate athy? if its called off tomorrow could colls forfeit the game  save money on travel, food, and hope to play sat against linnets and get a decent crowd? to supliment the loss from forfeiting the comp? Quote
athywhite1958 Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 No, you get fined heavily for pulling out of competitions, we wanted to pull out of the Lancashire Shield but it would have cost us £500, if the game is off tomorrow we have to try on Thursday then Saturday, if it's played tomorrow and we win, we will play the next round on Saturday as it is FA Vase day, if we play and lose we will play Linnets - provided we can get our pitch sorted as it was a mess after the game on Saturday Quote
athywhite1958 Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Pitch inspection didn't go ahead, it is now tomorrow morning at 10.00am but it isn't looking likely the game will be on Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Reckon Aycliffe are just taking the piss now. Shambles to leave such short notice tomorrow whichever way the inspection pans out. Quote
athywhite1958 Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 We could get told at around 10.30-11.00 that the game is on then have to fuck about trying to get the afternoon off work, absolutely total disregard for our club by Newton Aycliffe, but the weather up there is worse than here and rain is forecast again Quote
Traf Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 My lad lives in Newcastle and he reckons the rain is absolutely bucketing it down. Quote
White on Tyne Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 It is. I had to remove my cigarette from its holder so i could keep it dry under my kepi. Hammering down since afternoon and forecast much the same all up the east side through co durham all day tomorrow. Localised flooding so If they have postponed the inspection expecting an improvement they are delugeded....... Quote
athywhite1958 Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 The game at Newton Aycliffe tonight is off, the match will hopefully go ahead on Saturday Quote
athywhite1958 Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Pitch inspection at Newton Aycliffe, 5.30 today to see if we get a day out tomorrow Quote
athywhite1958 Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 What a surprise the game is off, try again on Tuesday Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Bunch of crooks and nowt else. Fucking shambles. Quote
fester58 Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Bunch of crooks and nowt else. Fucking shambles. shithouses. they should be kicked out. plus colls lose out tomorrow of a decent crowd against top of league. Quote
Gumbo Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Another win for Abbey. Seem to be doing alright on a tiny budget Quote
athywhite1958 Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 To be honest we couldn't have hosted a game today, our pitch is still drowning and still hasn't recovered from last Saturday, lads have been on all week doing repairs but it's too wet to get a roller on, if we ever play N.A. and win we will play Marske at home, they played today and beat FC Northumbria Quote
L/H White Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Salford 4-0 win yesterday  Pitch cut up bad after 25 mins or so Quote
