I remember some Burnley fans throwing horse shit at us on the way back to the station after that. They were that incensed, yet so mind-meltingly poor, that it was all they could lay their hands on.

It's funny but although that was my greatest memory of watching the Whites, all I remember was the tension and then relief at the final whistle. The 2 previous years of near misses created an almost unbearable atmosphere of tension for me.

That was my first away trip great shout despite the result i remember thinking - I thought decent burnden nights were good but this is unreal - liverpool white hot was fantastic
