Dull Towns Visited.

Lincoln in 85 was the most boring place i have ever come across, and we got beat 2-1.

Featured Replies

Lived in Widnes, and that would take some beating, Crewe probably does beat it though.

Only visited Skelmersdale and Runcorn, but get the impression they are even duller.

Pretty right about Crewe being dull, but you get a massive load of trainspotters at Crewe. So Its Lincoln 1 Crewe 0.

Skelmersdale is one big shithole, I used to hate going there working, I'd say it's worse than Burnley and that's saying summat.

Hartlepool has to be a good shout, went one boxing day for one of the dullest nil nils ever witnessed.

I find Blackburn a bit dull and depressing.

Stayed overnight in Hinkley once; now that is one boring, backward and grim place

It's like a larger Dove Holes; that place is a real treat

Alsager in-between crewe and hanley.

The missus went to uni on the MMU campus there.

Fuck me that place was dull even the students union shut at 11 and a trip into crewe was considered a big night out.

My top Uncle & Aunt live there. You can't have discovered the Indian restaurant, Sketchleys, the garden centre or Tesco, which are the highlights of the place.

I visited Aberystwyth to see a mate at uni there who neglected to mention all the pubs were closed on Sundays. Probably the longest 24 hours of my life.

Wrexham, no contest.

Extend that to anywhere in North Wales [Rhos and Johnstown in particular]

We went to a Thai, which was very odd, the table next to us thought it was a 'funny Chinese' restaurant, the food was served in clay plant pot type things in the shape of the animal the meat was from, marmalade was served as a dip and tea towels were napkins

Gutted I missed away games at Aberystwyth, Parbold and Alsager

Glad I scrolled to bottom of thread. I was going to ask who even played there, never mind how pissed off I was to have missed all three games.

Went to Barnsley and got there very early. Went for a toot round the shops and was angered to see more United shirts being worn than Barnsley. Propper pissed me off!

Town was a dump too.

Best was probably the over-nighters at Cleethorpes.

Convenient if you spill curry on your shirt.

i was on my phone so didn't see the second heading about watching the whites as it doesn't show up on the mobile view.

However Alsager is where Fred Barber and Jussi held their keeper camps and where they discovered Adam bogdan

Same here regarding viewing on the phone Frank, ergo my Hinkley shout

Me three hence the Parbold shout :good:

Sunderland

Harrogate.

Took a coach up to Sunlun and stopped there. Only thing open was a pub but in fairness it did have a whore in there waiting for her Saturday afternoon fill of squaddies.

Upon supping up the landlord said we were welcome back 'apart from that little nigger in the corner'.

The 'nigger' was a lad with a deep sun tan but its good to know Yorkshire folk are friendly lot.

We didnt bother on the way back.
