I am hoping Davies and Klasnic are not first choice next year because we will be relegated if they are I hope they are replaced by younger faster and better players.

I'd have Ricketts at right back, Wheater at centre back and taylor left wing. I suppose from that you could say that a left winger and strikers are essential, but I think most places need more depth adding within the squad.

Looking at that I wouldn't want us spending good money on a centre midfielder unless its someone at that mythical next level. As holden, Mavis and muamba should be our 1st 3 choices and getting any better would cost a small fortune.

 

We need decent cover/competition for Chungy.

Someone to replace the goals of sturridge and elmander.

Ideally a left winger with the ability of Petrov and the drive and work ethic of Taylor.

A left back to replace Alonso.

If Connoly can't make the step up we'll need cover/competition for Wheater and Big Zat.

A lad at work told me today that Bolton have been interested in signing his brother from Netanya, but I don't really know him or his name so I can't follow it up. So, forget this post ........ what am I doing ?

• Need to remove players like S.Davis, JOB, Cohen and R.Blake, maybe bring reserve players into the squad, like Ward? heard good things about Vela, not seen him play though.
   
  
• Wheater to replace Cahill, need cover for Wheater's sub space, can we rely just on Ricketts as RB and CB cover?
   
  
• Loans to replace Rodrigo and Sturridge, or to re-loan, both unlikely, especially Sturridge, if I was Rodrigo, I wouldn't want an extension, due to lack of game time, even though at Benfica this may be limited also.

• We need a new left winger/midfielder, Taylor is poor IMO, if he's not on a set piece; Petrov has been more miss than hit.

• Give Gardner a testimonial and a further year to prove he's still worth at least a sub role, injuries have been his Everest.

• Focus on improving players with little ability like Knight, focus on improving poor passing players like Muamba.
   
  
• Train and practise playing without a target man more, we've had years of K.Davies, our football as improved so much, but when we're losing/in poor form, we still see a lot of negative football/players losing confidence which leads to hesitation and less ball retention.
   
  
• Try and get a better understanding positionally between Lee and Steinsson.
   
  
• Don't put 11 men back for corners, improve our counter attacking chances.
   
  
• Practise new set piece strategies, instead of just putting it into an area, be more inventive sometimes.

I don't play football manager[not since 2003], I just gave some examples on areas that I believe need improvement and replacements for players leaving/positions where we are weaker.

How about being constructive and give response to my suggestions/ideas, isn't that what a forum is for, I typed that with thought and care, some people are so inconsiderate

my thoughts are the we need:

 

centre back (to replace cahill)

centre mid (to replace cohen)

striker (to replace sturridge)

all-rounder (to replace elmander)

two footed winger (to replace rodrigo, taylor and petrov)

 

then a few other squadies to bulk up the squad..i think twice this season we have look knackered leading up to Christmas and the end of the season

cant see us paying big money for a striker after elmander will probably look at someone like Mowen

We need new cb new LB two/three cm ( squad players ) new lw two new strikers if Elmo leaves rodrigo permanently and maybe Josh mcceckran ( Chelsea ) or Jon joe shelvy ( Liverpool ) on loan we have been linked wig ryths Williams from boro and murray davidson ( apparently one of scottlands best young cm ) from st johnstone. I'm sure coyle will get some decent free agents aswell.
