Elmander Off To Galatasaray

Featured Replies

His asset value will have depreciated week on week by ?8m/(3*52).

Not necessarily so, it depends on what method of depreciation is used.

Hang on, hang on. Top scorer by a mile. 5 out of a dozen in the WWays unofficial goal o' the season. Played out of position in midfield for a lot of the season. Can't be arsed looking it up but he mus

Whereas Cahill has been touting himself for Arsenal but we all like him don't we? Elmander is/was one of our better players. He is a class player and class players don't play in teams whose only tact

im certainly no accountant, but im not having depreciation works with footballers as other business assets.

although i guess you could assign some kind of reconditioning cost (ie new signing on fee) then revalue the asset.

but even then, whats the market value of that asset?

at least those two

like i say, clubs prerogative but to blame elmander for refusing something he ewasn't offered is abit rich

i mean, cahills agent (and bwfc manager) are touting him around yet he's a fcuking hero

if elmander had been offered improved terms every 12 months, he'd not be leaving

I agree, I guess it's possible after preliminary talks BWFC decided we couldn't offer him a contract that he'd ever accept but it would be an odd thing for him to make up.

I'm glad 12 goals is so easily replaceable though. Oh, and he tried harder than most yesterday, as usual.

Standing ovation from me as he went off, shame he was wasted out of position for 2 years.

I'm still wondering where we are doing to get someone to score 12 goals for us next year for fuck all (because that whats we have in the piggy bank) conceding that everyone also believes we need 2 new fullbacks, another center half, a new left winger and some one for central midfield , Owens going to be busy shaking the 'get the good footballer free tree for a long time'

i sense a sammy lee start to the season, with that amount of changes!

That had crossed my mind, and it makes me feel very uneasy

My dads told me Elmanders sacked off Galatasary. Is this true or is he talking rubbish?

He could always go with that early on and slowly integrate his 16 new signings.

Best keep our fingers crossed, eh?

Two years ? What position should he have been playing ?

Holden won't be fit until October and as we have see any combination of the other midfield players we currently have doesn't get results.

Improved terms?

I bet he was already on 40k+, which is too much for a small club like ours.

i appreciate that

was just making the point that cahill is only not out of contract cos we protected our investment by upping his wages at regular intervals

cahill is the good guy (despite wanting out while having a nice deal that has years to run) and elmander is the cnut despite being on the dole!

it aint as simple as that

i know you know that, but some don't get it

I know what you mean, just like we did with Anelka.

I think the main problem with Elmander is that the majority of fans feel we've not had ?15m worth of service from him. Whereas Cahill cost ?5m and we'll make a small profit on the deal, once you factor in how much he has been paid.

Steinson, Robbo, and cahill through there shirts into the crowd jussi chucked his gloves into the north stand, all the players including coyle looked very subdued.

I got Steinson's shirt for my lad

I wonder who boo'd Elmo.

Same fans who were calling him in the weeks previous?

from Tower FM's news person (you would) via Twitter

https://twitter.com/#!/Kelly_TowerFM

- "I didnt get something good from the club so I didnt have to decide anything" - Johan Elmander on his reasons for leaving Bolton

- Elmander says "of course" he would have stayed IF Bolton had offered him a better deal, because he "likes the club"

- Interestingly, Elmander wouldnt say whether he was off to Galatasaray... saying "that's something im going to keep to myself"

- And I forgot to say, Elmander had to have a bodyguard at the POYA because the club were slightly worried for his safety...

My dads told me Elmanders sacked off Galatasary. Is this true or is he talking rubbish?

Feyenoord now apparantly.

Ok reading that he scored 12 goals last year that all contributes to us staying in the top flight and that is what we are going to struggle to replace, if we don't listening to folk on Here we will go down! What about his first two seasons where he score 5 goals between them? We stayed up both seasons with pretty much the same squad dare I say a worse squad than we have now? Fuck him, thanks for your efforts Elmander but we move on!

Granted every footballer is going to want more money but he has some nerve to declare he would have signed if he had been offered better terms despite being one of our most dissapointing signings in recent memory given the money spent in terms of transfer fee and wages.

I for one am pleased to see the back of him and hopefully Owen will bring in somebody who has a sense of pride for the shirt he is wearing.

If you had a work appraisal and said to your boss : 'yeah, I know I've not performed that well in most of the last 3 years but, hey, let's re-negotiate my contract for a nice wage rise' ........ then you'd stand a good chance of being fooked off too.

What "something good from the club" was he expecting ?

Whats to say he wasnt offered lower terms on just a 1 year contract, which I have heard has been the case. Is he still a twat for turning that down?

Yes.

He's a twat, regardless of any contract discussions.

We got 20 goals out of Kevin Davies in those two seasons, and only one of them was a penalty.

I'd be surprised if that happens again.

Do you reckon he just wanted a "cost of living" increase, like the rest of us aren't getting this year?

Regardless of how a goal is scored a goal is a goal is it not?
