Well, it looks like he's joining the Bolton Veterans in East London.

Don't know why, but it's saddened me quite a bit.

For some reason I don't like the thought of him playing for anyone else but us.

Maybe it's because he was always such a quite unassuming and humble lad, who never complained about anything. Not a peep out of him when he was dropped. He just always seemed to be grateful for what BWFC had given to him.

I think what makes matters worse is I'm going to HAVE TO hope West Ham have a succesful season next year.

Grrr.

Agree with DPBs sentiments. I Wish Ricardo all the best though and don't blame him for seeking a new challenge at 32. He was never going to feature much this season and to be brutally honest, I think most people would prefer to see a new face in lieu of nostalgia.

Having one of 'our own' doing them a favour smacks of treason. Up against the wall if they go up, Knighthood if they go down.

I hope he enjoys his last couple of years as a footballer, a great servant for us :hi:

Ricar, Ricar, Ricardo, Ricardo, Ricardo............

I'm a bit gutted by this to be honest ...... all the best to him though

fair play to him, he obviously want to play, rather than sit on the bench, picking up a wage.

:good:

Wonder if, whilst having his medical, he was looking round, wondering if he preferred that treatment table to the Bolton one?

Indifferent to this, I don't think he warranted another contract offer from us, just doesn't justify it based on recent fitness. Good servant, wish him well, should have had a testimonial. But not bothered about him being out of our squad.

Ricky's goal at Cardiff vs North End overwhelmed me with emotion as did the opener in the Alliance Arena and just for them two he will be up there in my all time list of players for us. As previously said never heard a peep out of him and hes obviously a good pro,

not many in this era will stick with one team for 11 or 12 seasons. Hope we can play against him to give him the sendoff he deserves from the Bolton Fans. :good:

Cheers Ricky

I am gutted, However there is no room for sentiment in football, I wish him all the best

'Kin hell, another one at West Ham.

Fair play to Gardner though. Always been unassuming and probably a fan favourite for quite a lot of people. I thought he was a great servant to the Club and hope he returns in some capacity once his playing days are behind him.

wash your mouth out

players come and go but their fans will always be massive c?nts

Someone get his rap out one last time

In fairness, we'll not miss Gardner. We've seen fuck all of him for ages.

Good luck to him but hopefully he doesn't help fat head in bringing wet spam back up.

He seems a decent bloke but hasn't earned his wages in the past couple of years due to his injuries.

His moving on will free up some money from the wage bill that hopefully will be spent on a player who is less injury prone.

Good for him.

He'll shine in that league, pick up a good wage that should seem him into retirement.

Great servant to wanderers.

bad times...still fondly remember his winning goal at west brom on his league debut, can't believe that's nearly 13 years ago

Edit. Double post

Devasted to be honest, read all the posts and the like that suggested that some folk thought he didn't deserve a contract and were glad that he was on his way. I was hoping he was to be retained and were glad to hear that a contract had indeed been offered! Im with cas on this one GUTTED FACT!

Good luck to him tho showed while he was at Preston that he will have no problems in that league.

A great player in the past, when will his testimonial be? be a fitting tribute to a player that helped greatly to get us promoted and stay there, injury as been his everest, he's been so unlucky.

Are they going to have testimonial for him?

my mate's dad used to get free tickets and access to players lounge in return for taking his mum to away games

can't blame him for wanting to go there and play, but would have preferred him to stay on a short term contract for another season

was one of our better players when he came back at the end of last season

can understand those who are saying we haven't got any value while he's been injured and free up some wages, but for the same money, are we going to get someone who is just as happy to be here and can come in and do a decent job like he did at the end of last season?
