October 15, 201114 yr Missed the team announcements and Told he wasn't even on the bench today Injured or really fallen out with OC? If injured anyone know what?
October 15, 201114 yr Ultimately, that's his job and he's paid to make decisions as we have a fucking lot of midfielders. I'd have Muamba in ahead of Pratley personally.

Im suprised its taken Coyle so long to drop Knight though so im not hopeful Muamba will be back in anytime soon. Edited October 15, 201114 yr by tylswhite
October 15, 201114 yr We won 3 - 1 away at our local rivals. But in true bolton style we've still found summert to complain about

I thought Pratley was immense today, Muamba is good breaking up play against the top teams, however when he is not assigned to do a job he is less effective, Pratley is a far superior technical footballer and not bad at covering the ground, I think he will be a very useful player for BWFC.

October 15, 201114 yr Would still rather have Mavies in for Pratley I dont think you can play Mark Davies in a 4-4-2 we would have to go 4-5-1 to accomodate him.
October 15, 201114 yr Whilst I don't think Pratley is a Premiership midfielder... I do think he has a fantastic engine and convers every inch of the pitch.... box to box! I believe Darren P is doing exactly the job that Coyle wants Muamba to do and perhaps Fabrice hasn't quite been able to get to grips with. My personal opinion about Muamba is a very harsh one. I always encourage and support players at the game but I think Muamba strikes a football more poorly than anyone else at the club, his shooting and passing is shocking. The question is... is he really a better tackler than the other options in midfield? Not for me ... he gets stuck in but mostly wins the ball by taking the man imo! I'm happy to see him resting at the moment myself. Edited October 15, 201114 yr by Arnold Jackson
October 15, 201114 yr Good to read an honest and reasoned critique of a player rather that the usual wanderersways diatribe about one player being shit because he drops to his knees, another being shit because he's now the captain, yet another because he hasn't played in the premier league before. Have a +1
October 15, 201114 yr Muamba is awful!!! If he never played again I would be very happy!!!! Never known a player who is so terrible on the ball - can't pass, shoot or control the ball. Yes he is a reasonable ball winner but Reo-Coker is much better. I think Mavies could play in a 4-4-2 and think he would have been fine today. Pratley - I will judge after he has had a full season with us.
October 16, 201114 yr Muamba isn't awful just lacks an end product weather that's a pass or a shot, he was a major part of two campaigns for the 21's, maybe he needs to work a bit harder at his game to improve those aspects he's still young yet.
October 16, 201114 yr Mavies could and will play in a 442 as long as he has that bit of steel behind him
October 16, 201114 yr Would still rather have Mavies in for Pratley not in that squad, eagles, petrov and reo coker are all lightweight in midfield so Pratley is there for a bit of steel
October 16, 201114 yr we beat a championship team 3 - 1 we have a championship midfield ourselves Eagles, Reo Coker + Pratley it will still be a long season
October 16, 201114 yr The pros and cons of Muamba have been done to death, I like the bloke but there is a reason he is not even getting in the squad now a lack of consistency in his game. I also thought Pratley played well yesterday and does alot more going forward than Fabrice. Good to finally have competition for places.
October 16, 201114 yr i heard he had some 'personal' problems.something about his child being ill. Oops missed that Still good to have plenty of options in the middle.
October 16, 201114 yr I dont think you can play Mark Davies in a 4-4-2 we would have to go 4-5-1 to accomodate him. Mounts if Saint Owen has to take some time off then I designate you as stand in manager 100% spot on again; Mark Davies does not perform as centre mid 2 but can be very effective in a 4-5-1 just off the front man
October 16, 201114 yr i heard he had some 'personal' problems.something about his child being ill. thats why he was subbed at Liverpool after 20 mins as hed been up all night with his child
