Swansea 3 Wanderers 1

IF a new manager was brought in he'd need to assess the current squad, try to iron out the obvious shortcomings, try to build a working team, and then decide what wheeling & dealing he needed to try to do in January to resolve remaining problems. Leaving OC in position until Xmas wouldn't work.

We need to see some consistency of team tactics and team selection and team performance NOW.

Best thing to do is stick with Coyle and stop moaning. He'll pull it round. Some fool will be saying we should get umbrella mclaren next.

In the cold light of the next day the most annoying thing yesterday for me was the fact that after getting a fortuitous goal back we then couldn't put the fear of God into them. Even against 10 men - or in fact even more because of it - they would have been bricking it at the thought of chucking 2 points away. After all, from the the situation they were in, that would be 2 points they might ultimately look back on as sending them down. So we should have been able to have them shitting themselves - and if we'd hit the woodwork and had forced a few scrambles, only to succumb to a sucker punch them that's one thing. But to look completely unable to force the issue is quite another.

Swansea looked weak, but they also looked like a team getting the best out what they have. You really couldn't even begin to say the latter about us. And in that situation there's only one place the buck stops....

Spot on; at 2-1 his substitutions were wrong

Swansea were running the clock down and we let them - he should have put two up top (this was the game to introduce SKD as sub) to pressurise the centre backs and hit them with long balls. Taking the two that were running around most seemed strange.

Its over now; Clattenberg didn't help, the cheating get, but Swansea where there for the taking yesterday.

Stoke is the biggest game for a long time - if we don't win it I really believe its our season for the drop

Correct and by bringing Muamber in the middle we will have even less abillity to press the opposition but be more solid defensivly.

For me we just have too many shit players, OC had to replace quality with little or no money. Aside from the horrific luck with injuries to our best players I believe the biggest thing that went against us was not being able to sell Cahill on for ?15m. That is what we are meant to be doing as a trading club and the ?8m - ?10m going back into the squad would have meant a good 4 or 5 decent experienced players in the squad.

Whoever is responsible for contract negotiating has dropped a bollock, not a very good trading club when the biggest asset leaves for nout.

Spot on. Selling Cahill for the money we thought we could get last summer could of sorted key positions to the whole squad. Oh well shoulda woulda coulda!

The thought I have at the mo other than been unhappy with the result is in 2 of the 5 games we should have had points we have been down to ten, we won 2 of them and lost to Sunderland with 11 oh don't know what I'm getting at

oh don't know what I'm getting at

I think we're all getting to that stage :D

I haven't felt this low about my team for a long while.

Just back from Swansea & the extra 24 hours has at least stopped me from ranting ....yesterday I was livid.

Briefly, only losing 3-1 flattered us, & I wouldn't be bothered if Eagles, Klasnic or Petrov never played for us again, Kakuta is this season's headless chicken, & Pratley & Ngog are looking no more than championship standard ( which could come in handy )

I thought Cahill & Wheater played well & at least looked committed to the cause...a shame that one player who seemed to care will no doubt be leaving us soon.

I havent been impressed with anything I have seen from him really yet most fans want him in the team. Im glad someone else agrees with me on here. I think some people just automatically think he is going to be another Daniel Sturridge.

I was watching this in town yesterday (yeah, yeah, shit fan, I know) and a group of mongtards in front of me were shouting (and pointing) at the screen, "Ivan Klasnic, Ivan Klasnic".

I despaired.

I despaired even more when Coyle actually did what they'd been asking for.

We all know Klasnic needs others to do his work for him. We'd created fuck all prior to him coming on so what was the point in bringing him on? Especially when we're down to 10 men.

Why can't we pass the ball about and keep possession? I watched spurs earlier and each player knows where the other is, they can string 20 passes about without a problem! Ok you might say it's because they have spent millions on players but I also watched Leeds v Cardiff today and they are 100 times better at passing and keeping the ball, even burnley yesterday can do it! We are lucky to keep the ball for a minute, this must be down to our coaching staff.

But give them a table tennis bat and a ping-pong ball . . . then they'll show you the value of good coaching!

Did you walk it back?

He should be in the Olympics squad if he has.

quite right ive just done a google maps search and it would take 2 days and 10 hours :D

That's exactly my thought at most non-league games I go to.

The Wanderers have decent players so why can't they pass the ball and move into space for passes ?

Just as bad, why do they have no fight or commitment - for their own personal reputation, if nothing else ?

It's like everything football has been drained out of them. Only hard hard work on the basics at training might get them going again.

Did you walk it back?

Nope...stopped over Saturday night & had a few drinks on Wind St which is quite an experience. They shut the street down for traffic & it gets heaving with Welsh loons, a large number of them in fancy dress.(with some women in extremely skimpy outfits & also saw the baseball players' gang from "The Warriors")

Soon takes your mind of the hopeless football !!

I read on here about Leon Britton's 100% pass rate during the game.

To rub it in even more, Swansea successfully completed 654 passes to our 253. I know this will be exaggerated by having ten men for nearly half a game, but even so its a bit embarassing.

so they have more possession and pass better and run further

maybe, just maybe, all three are linked

To my thinking that is a team who have lost faith in the current management team, there is no way we should be outpassed by a team who have just got promoted and out passed us 2.5 to 1. The little of the game I saw on MOTD was that bad in all areas especially in the area in and around our penalty area where there was no one closing down and the 2 centre halfs looked like cats caught in the headlights the body language of many of the players was shocking, it is up to the board to decide if player power gets rid of O.C. or if they have the confidence that O.C. can turn it round, if it is the latter then a clear statement should be made to the players that Coyle is staying and that the players shoulder the blame and must improve there level of performance.

as a bright young lady, the irony won't be lost on you :)

Twas possibly why I mentioned it. Reading did far better once they put McDermott who knew their strengths in charge, got to the play-off final last season, losing to, err, Swansea.

The Swansea friends that I spent the weekend with are convinced they're 1 injury away from a run similar to ours as they have no strength in depth.

Hopefully they'll buy Pratley back from us in January then. :yahoo:

I am pretty sure that Swansea will outpass most teams this season. I have only seen them 3 or 4 times but I am impressed with them. Even against City (when they eventually got battered) you could see that they are confident and competent on the ball.

Of course that plus our ability to stand off opponents better than anyone else in the league meant there was only ever going to be one winner when analysing the passing stats.

Even our 'Championship' players can close opponents down if instructed to. So they either have not been told or they have taken no notice ...

BTW - who else noticed that when Bale scored yesterday (2 touches after the goalie launched it?) it was wonderful and typical Tottenham goal from one of the league's most entertaining teams?
