birch-chorley Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Talking of tweeting, grown men are abusing Owen Coyle's 15/16 year old son on twitter... Fucking idiots name and shame em
passmosster Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Probably not but no doubt the bedsheet brigade would have been clamouring for it. Didn't they get us in this position?
jules_darby Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Not in the slightest That would be many factors starting with Allardyce and mainly PG's recruitment policy But let's turn on the fans eh, it's fashionable
Casino Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 (edited) and mainly PG's recruitment policy a recruitment policy that saw coyle and his team get to 6th in the league and the fa cup semi, less than 6 months ago? i'd say thats about as good as we're ever likely to be it certainly seems worlds apart from our current woes Edited October 30, 2011 by Casino
Pablo Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Seems like a few of your recent managers like to have a go at your fans. Im thinking its no coinidence they all had Gartside as a boss.
freds dad Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Well seeing that Gartside is the chairman they would have him as their boss. Is Kenwright still struggling to find a buyer?
jules_darby Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 a recruitment policy that saw coyle and his team get to 6th in the league and the fa cup semi, less than 6 months ago? A policy that brought us A disastrous manager that'd have taken us down A manager who a majority of the fans hated who left us in the relegation zone And a Manager that has us currently in the relegation zone So errm yeah
Casino Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 A disastrous manager that'd have taken us down a poor appointment, but one most folk could see the logic in quickly put it right A manager who a majority of the fans hated who left us in the relegation zone a manager who kept us in the top league twice and would've done it for a third and bought some good players And a Manager that has us currently in the relegation zone a manager who the masses wanted happy clappy, PR mans dream kept us up twice, a cup semi and signed one excellent player who we could make a nice profit on they all come a distant second to allardyce, but then his record was exceptional
jules_darby Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Great All is well then Each Manager has inevitably cleared up from the disasterous position left by the previous incumbent And you can't say that megson wouldn't kept us up the season he left bearing in mind where we were Well you could but most sensible folk wouldn't; we were fucking dire then. As we are now. Glad you're happy with Managers who get us out the shit for a bit and then pop us back in it
Guest Biff Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Coyle's record as manager of Bolton Wanderers Overall P82 W28 D15 L39 F92 A130 Since 1.11.10 P47 W18 D5 L24 F64 A79 Since FA Cup Semi Final v Stoke P20 W5 D0 L15 F29 A48 Make of the above what you will but it is hardly the record of a manager who is progressing.
superjohnmcginlay Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Not that I can see. He tweeted miming Cryptic must be!!
richbwfc Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Did SKD just tweet summert Yeh was apparently his missus though. It soon went.
birch-chorley Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 a poor appointment, but one most folk could see the logic in quickly put it right a manager who kept us in the top league twice and would've done it for a third and bought some good players a manager who the masses wanted happy clappy, PR mans dream kept us up twice, a cup semi and signed one excellent player who we could make a nice profit on they all come a distant second to allardyce, but then his record was exceptional All fair points but what makes you think Megson would have bought some more good players? When he was given money he got some really good buys and some really shit buys but they all cost ?4m-5m a piece. I just dont think that the money is there now until we sell someone on (i.e Cahill), its not OC job to negotiate players contracts / transfer fees but someone has cost us big time.

MickyD Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Sell Cahill . . . remind me again which of our former managers bought him.
DazBob Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Oh come on, let's not start a Megson v Coyle debate. Yes we've got a lot to thank him for. He kept us up when we looked doomed and he brought in some good players. But we'd have gone down under him, I have little doubt about that. Coyle then came in and did a fantastic job in keeping us up. The trouble is, unless something changes in the next couple of games, it's now beginning to look like we're going to be in a similar position to the one we were in a couple of years ago. We need a Coyle/Megson hybrid, ie someone with a bit of passion and enthusiasm who doesn't think we're all cunts, but also someone who knows how to grind out a result.
Mike Hunt Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Passion and enthusiasm? Traits that seem to be sadly lacking at the minute in the manager and team and was never shown by Megson either
DazBob Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Passion and enthusiasm? Traits that seem to be sadly lacking at the minute in the manager and team and was never shown by Megson either They are the traits that Coyle did show. Sadly he doesn't even seem to offer that any more. He looks like a beaten man. Megson never showed any. He was a cunt and thought we were cunts. However, at present, I'd gladly have a cunt in charge if he could make us hard to beat.
BURNDEN BILLY Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I'd let him see the season out. Crazy Maybe. But I would. Can't see what we'll achieve by getting rid. Move into yet another transition period? Brilliant. This doesn't mean I think he will keep us up but just can be arsed jumping on the manager merry go round again. Another spineless defeat though will probably change my mind. I agree with Homer, 10 games in and one point better than LSL I think. To change now will give us another wage bill on garden leave, a period with no manager at all and when the new manager arrives another transitional period or even periods. All this and no money to spend. The powers that be didnt help Coyle in the summer, they didnt even give him back the money earned in the transfer market. Garside out.

The money from Habsi, Taylor & Ward went on Ngog, Eagles and Mears.
BURNDEN BILLY Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 The money from Habsi, Taylor & Ward went on Ngog, Eagles and Mears. Matt, It did not add up to ?7.2 million, but then what about the 5% increased attendance, the increases in corporate, increase in merchandise sales and the TV money etc.......... BWFC have just released the financial info for last year, could it be the team suffered to improve the balance sheet, or am I a sceptic? Improved balance sheets usually relate to higher bonuses for the top management. mmmmmmmmm It appears there is nothing worth having in the EPL transfer market below ?5 mil, None of our incomers were near that. Garside out.
frank_spencer Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 We sold Al-Habsi for 4m Taylor for 2.2m And ward for 1m Giving a total of 7.2m We bought N'Gog for 4m Eagles and Mears for a joint 2.75 Which makes 6.75m Giving 450k to cover the loan fees and signing in fees of NRC, Pratley, Tuncay, Kakuta and Boyata
