Gary Cahill

Will Chelsea look at his last several performances and re-think their decision to cough up ?5m+ to sign him? I personally would. His lacklustre displays of late were even a talking point on Gillette Soccer Saturday yesterday.

I've always thought that how well he performs depends entirely on how crucial he feels it is to impress potential buyers at that particular time. You might argue that if that were the case, he'd step up to the plate now, with January being round the corner, but I don't think he's that desperate to go this January. He can stick around and have his choice of most top clubs in Europe in the summer.

Thanks for reading,

Gloria.

i genuinely believe it is not all about money to cahill.

i would sooner he stayed in the northwest as nobody wants to sit in that traffic down south :)

well i hope if no deal is done by the weekend he plays against the scum and scores the winner

reason for meeting with coyle/gartside yesterday

'now, about that loyalty bonus i'd get if i stayed til june'

maybe?

offer him a new deal with a relegation clause in of 8mill.

If he stays until the end of the season our chances of staying up are greatly increased imo. We would probably pay 2 or 3 million on some shit replacement anyway. For the sake of 6 or 7 million i wouldnt mind if we lost him on a free at end of the season.

We could, but the deal would have to be worth at least ?100K per week, which is what he is allegedly looking for

1232 FOOTBALL: Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has said he expects Bolton's Gary Cahill to be a Chelsea player by the end of the week. "Still an ongoing negotiation, not that we don't want it resolved as soon as possible," said Villas-Boas.

Give him a lump sum bonus if we stay up then

Surely we should have been trying to presuade him to stay eg offering bonuses etc long before now. Coyle been hawking him for months.

come on gary,if your goin ,bloody well go and stop messin about .we have all loved you at our club and wish you well but with only two weeks or so of the window left we will be left with "left overs" to pick from again .

all the best mate but hurry up !!! :db:

no point in thinking like that now

he's going

and more than likely Tim Ream is coming in

id offer him 50k plus bonuses

Except we can't buy Tim Ream without the money raised from Cahill's sale...

Not true.

I'm sure I could sort a whip round

alternatively sell knight/robinson/skd/eagles/pratley then we can afford it and his wages after getting rid osf that deadwood

Am I missing something here: has it been decreed that Tim Ream is going to be a world beater?

Yes he is, hence all the other Premier League clubs as well as some of the major European clubs falling over themselves to get him signed up as quickly as possible

I think the biggest crime by BWFC was to let him get down so near to end of his contract.Should have been sold with no less than 18 months left on his contract. Also is it a ploy by the club to get all the big earners off there books in the summer when there contracts expire.

To be fair, I think Coyle's been touting him about for that long, it's just that everyone knows now to wait until contracts run out.

Plus we don't know how many contracts we've offered him, how good they have been, whether he turned them down.

We don't know he he's been offered to other clubs in previous seasons

Basically we no fuck all

FWIW, just on SSN now, saying he's trained with the squad today ahead of weekends game.

TR to arrive in the next few days working permit permitting.

Owen Coyle is set to complete a ?2.6 million move for New York Red Bulls defender Tim Ream as the replacement for Chelsea-bound Gary Cahill ? who earns more in a week at the Reebok than his potential successor picks up in a whole year in the MLS.
