Gonk Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 To me it seems extremely strange, that if he isn't on ?50,000 a week at BWFC, and Chelski are offering him that, plus win bonuses (I assume), and he is not willing to accept that, is there another agenda? Are they not guaranteeing him 1st team football? Does he really want to go to Chelski ? Is his agent pulling the strings ? Does he &/or his agent expect another club (MUFC OR LFC) to gazzump CFC at last minute? Why did he (reportedly) have a meeting with Coyle & Gartside yesterday? Is he back tracking? all very odd IMO Asking if anybody else had enquired as to his availability. It's looking more like he doesn't want to go for the difference in money. His missus / kids are settled up here. If he was treblimng his money, fair enough, if not, he might just sit tight and go for a whopper of a signing on fee in the summer, whilst Eddie gets nowt for him. Quote
Big E Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 i genuinely believe it is not all about money to cahill. i would sooner he stayed in the northwest as nobody wants to sit in that traffic down south Quote
athywhite1958 Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 well i hope if no deal is done by the weekend he plays against the scum and scores the winner Quote
Casino Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 reason for meeting with coyle/gartside yesterday 'now, about that loyalty bonus i'd get if i stayed til june' maybe? Quote
Guest Frandsen08 Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 offer him a new deal with a relegation clause in of 8mill. Quote
tylswhite Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 If he stays until the end of the season our chances of staying up are greatly increased imo. We would probably pay 2 or 3 million on some shit replacement anyway. For the sake of 6 or 7 million i wouldnt mind if we lost him on a free at end of the season. Quote
Sweep Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 offer him a new deal with a relegation clause in of 8mill. We could, but the deal would have to be worth at least ?100K per week, which is what he is allegedly looking for Quote
BURNDEN BILLY Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 1232 FOOTBALL: Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has said he expects Bolton's Gary Cahill to be a Chelsea player by the end of the week. "Still an ongoing negotiation, not that we don't want it resolved as soon as possible," said Villas-Boas. BBC WEBSITE Quote

waffer cup 07 Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Give him a lump sum bonus if we stay up then Surely we should have been trying to presuade him to stay eg offering bonuses etc long before now. Coyle been hawking him for months. Quote
mick ramsden Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 come on gary,if your goin ,bloody well go and stop messin about .we have all loved you at our club and wish you well but with only two weeks or so of the window left we will be left with "left overs" to pick from again . all the best mate but hurry up !!! SnoopJohnnyJohn Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 gary cahill and tim ream at the back maybe id offer him 50k plus bonuses Except we can't buy Tim Ream without the money raised from Cahill's sale... Quote
SpiritofBurnden Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Except we can't buy Tim Ream without the money raised from Cahill's sale... Not true. Quote
anewman Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Except we can't buy Tim Ream without the money raised from Cahill's sale... I'm sure I could sort a whip round alternatively sell knight/robinson/skd/eagles/pratley then we can afford it and his wages after getting rid osf that deadwood Quote
Traf Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Am I missing something here: has it been decreed that Tim Ream is going to be a world beater? Quote
Sweep Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Am I missing something here: has it been decreed that Tim Ream is going to be a world beater? Yes he is, hence all the other Premier League clubs as well as some of the major European clubs falling over themselves to get him signed up as quickly as possible Quote
fruitbat69 Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 I think the biggest crime by BWFC was to let him get down so near to end of his contract.Should have been sold with no less than 18 months left on his contract. Also is it a ploy by the club to get all the big earners off there books in the summer when there contracts expire. To be fair, I think Coyle's been touting him about for that long, it's just that everyone knows now to wait until contracts run out. Quote
HomerJay Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Plus we don't know how many contracts we've offered him, how good they have been, whether he turned them down. We don't know he he's been offered to other clubs in previous seasons Basically we no fuck all Quote
