I can understand if he doesn't want to go to London. If he wants to stay put then his choices are down to the obvious 3 local clubs - and I don't see either of them splashing the cash in the next few weeks, so it could be that he goes to one of them on a free at the end of the season. I would imagine he'll be looking for a Champions League team, and as pointed out furthe rup this thread Chelsea aren't guaranteed that as things stand. It may be that Spurs is the better bet for him as things stand (provided they come in for him)

I get that, but we also have to rememebr that maybe he isn't of such interest to the big clubs if he has a price of upwards of ?10M attached to him. At the minute, he's pretty much holding all the cards. He can go to Chelsea for a paltry ?70K per week (allegedly) and get to play Champions League football this season and cement his place in the England swquad for the upcoming Euros. Or he can see out the contract and ensure a whopping signing on fee and a whopping weekly wage at his pick of top teams come the summer. He really can't lose, I don't see that he is going to jepordise any of that by signing a new contract with us, no matter what sort of loyalty bonus we put in place for him. Hate to point this out, but they can't discuss salary until AFTER the clubs have agreed a fee. Not legally anyways.

Utd - more likely than not;
