  • I'd not read any of this till tonight but think my experiences over the last few years should give an insight.   I split with the ex years ago and got lumbered with debt, a lot of debt. I continued

  • It's easy going to extremes when discussing benefits and classifying everyone on benefits as a workshy cunt but there are deserving cases out there. Here's a heart rending story from Dorren   http:/

I think the over whelming evidence, means we don't want the Tory shite here .

Put it to the vote.

They did, not long ago.

We live in a democracy. Because it didn't go the way you wanted it doesn't make it any less valid.

But it wasn't just me , it was the folk of Bolton.

But it wasn't just me , it was the folk of Bolton.

All of them?

As stevie intimated earlier, are the voters of Bolton more intelligent than other towns? I would boldy say not.

Proper Bowton folk can see through the shite that Cameron and his lacky's are spouting.

That's why they voted Labour 3-0.

You're right. Proper Bolton folk voted Labour and all the others who voted differently are pretenders and proper stupid.

You've still got your tongue in your cheek and reeling me in, aren't you?

No , don't give a fuck.. . live and let live...

Might be why our town centre gets fcuk all in funding and is a shit hole then? You get what you deserve. The red rags are more concerned about the plight of One Eyed Black Lesbians Against The Bomb than local prosperity.

Struggle to understand how anyone can vote for them but, then again, I can't grasp why someone would choose a 900cc rice burner over a sensuous Lambretta or Vespa :D

Proper Bowton folk vote labour because their dad did

There we go. I agree!

Nothing to be proud of. Areas which vote Labour are on average (but with very few exceptions anyway) shit-holes which score badly on almost any metric which would determine success and people choosing to live there for any reason other than being born there.

Of course I'm sure that's due to the Tories starving them of funds, even though those areas also significantly over-index in state funding.

Proper Bolton folk voted for a Pakistani & a Southerner

Well done to the proper folk for keeping it local for 2 out of the 3.

As far as regional voting is concerned, if you took out the Scots and the Welsh, England would nearly always have a Tory government based on past election results so the good people of England tend to swing to the right. As far as the good people of WW's, look at the top of the page to see that the vast majority are in favour of a cap. The details of the cap are open to debate

this may have been posted already but can't be arsed reading 9 pages to check

anyway - cap, mostly because of shit like this:

what winds me up most though, is when I was out of work for 3 months having been made redundant, I signed on but they wouldn't give me housing benefit as I lived with a girl at the time and it was deemed she would be able to cover my half of the rent

not only that, they made me apply for any old shite job to get what dole they did give me

there were def people in that job centre who had been going for years

Whilst i agree with your sentiment that is an Irish notice. Are similar notices displayed in the UK ?

It was discussed on Jezzer's show on Radio 2 this week. The reason the notice was put up was because there were complaints from other claimants who still had their self respect, it wasn't the staff who complained as you would've thought.

You'd hope there'd be some in the UK who'd complain. There was talk of a number of headmasters sending out a note regarding this which did stop the problem.

Some horrible bint actually came on the show to justify pyjama wearing. I made a joke about it last week & some people thought I was serious. Would any normal person really go out in their nightwear? You've got enough clothes to wear, surely.

no idea, didn't realise it was irish, though it's the mindset that fucks me off and am sure that it's as common over here as it over there (the mindset, not wearing pyjamas, which might be an issue, but don't know)

Proper Bolton folk certainly didn't

They voted that way for their own reasons, which will be manifold, but might include

"always voted that way"

"me dad voted Labour"

"I'm resigned to what my fatte is"

"It's not my life, it's someone else's responsibility"

etc

Didn't a Tesco have to ban people from wearing their jammies to the supermarket?

Oh god, that's cheered me up no end!!!!

A few years back, we were in Ireland for xmas/new years, booked a posh, and I mean POSH hotel

The Irish are great when they're drunk, but the new years day am, jaysus.......

They all got up for breakfast in their jimjams, ( not a pretty sight) everybsingle one of 'em !!!!! mums, dads, kids

The dads were on whisky/ guinness , mums on tea and a fag, and the kids were sticking the snotty fingers in every sugar bowl available

My mate who has no kids, doesn't smoke or drink before 8.00 pm, nearly threw up in his muesli ...

Wonderful memory

What folk do is apply for a job, get a letter saying they have an interview but don't go to the interview. Job Centre sees it as trying to get a job so pays the benefit.

This happens where I work and only about 60% of interviewees turn up.

Pyjamas......no.

Nighties on the other hand......yes!

Grass them up to the social and they are suposed to stop paying job seekers for that.

I was a recruitment consultant and if someone did not show for an interview that we had arranged without letting us know we would shop them if we thought / knew that they where on benefits.

Scotland have 59 MPs at a tough guess (as the SNP have 6 MPs), these would leave 52-53 MPs for Labour (I think the Tories have 1 MP in Scotland) , any wonder the Labour party are against Devolution?

BTW Ed Miliband is coming to our gaffe tomorrow, I have asked he comes nowhere near our department..........
