March 26, 201214 yr Ngog ran his socks off and proved he can play that lone front man - the guy has skill and there is a lot to come from him. See I saw it differently. I've been a recent supporter of Ngog - even though he hasn't been scoring loads he's worked hard and showed in flashes what he's about. BUT - last few games I'm getting less convinced by his ability as the lone front man. Nothing was sticking to him on Saturday and he was on his heels a lot when the ball came into him from the midfield. Looks to be lacking confidence and barring the header chance didn't look like any sort of a goal threat for me - and that was against a poor Blackburn defence. Not taking anything away from what was a fantastic day, and result, but we're gonna need more from him in the run-in, and Owen needs to think about getting the best combo from the strikers we've got - I still think Klasnic/Davies/Sordell are gonna have to play their part.
March 26, 201214 yr Tremendous. Absolutely tremendous. Proud in every way of BWFC after that! THought Petrov had a great game, especially first half, and did my eyes decieve me or did i see him tracking back and tackling in our half?! Keep that up on and off the pitch and we'll be more than reet! Petrov's performances have improved massively of late. I wonder when his contract expires?
March 26, 201214 yr Petrov's performances have improved massively of late. I wonder when his contract expires? From looking at the tv, in the huddle before kick off Petrov did the final geeing up. Never had him down as the Stuart Pearce type.
March 26, 201214 yr Strange, I've always thought Petrov was classy, just needs to feel he belongs Klasnic looked to me like he was ready to spit the dummy out Steinsson gave him two bollockings, and Ngog runs his heart out, we just aren't playing to his strengths I think the lad will come good, once Holden and chungi are back
March 27, 201214 yr Petrov's performances have improved massively of late. I wonder when his contract expires? I thought i'd heard at the end of the season but could be wrong. After Wembley last year I didn't think i'd want to see him in a white shirt again but to be fair to him he's really put a shift in this season. Also agree that he seems to be very much a confidence type player.
March 27, 201214 yr if we'd conceded in those last 5 minutes during which his half heartedness in the challenge reached new lows, i'd guess a few wouldn't be quite so complimentary it was eagles-esque
March 27, 201214 yr if we'd conceded in those last 5 minutes during which his half heartedness in the challenge reached new lows, i'd guess a few wouldn't be quite so complimentary it was eagles-esque True. But the grin is still slapped all over my face from the weekend and objectivity and perspective are out the window! I do think though that overall this season his effort has improved. Would like to see more quality/consistency from his final ball though. Also recall a shot he screwed well wide which he does far too often for someone with a left foot like his.
March 27, 201214 yr he was good on saturday of that there is no doubt he'll go in the summer, though wages are way out of line with current thinking, i imagine
March 27, 201214 yr Sadly I think folks 'cynicism' re. hunting after a new contract is probably spot on In all honesty as long as he keeps it up for the rest of the season i'll be a happy camper. Can't say i'll shed any tears if he does go though. Could and should have offered a lot more.
March 27, 201214 yr Petrov will be off at the end of the season - I reckon that was Coyle's thinking behind getting Wylde in, a younger, hungry player on less money with potential to improve. I just hope that if we do stay up, we have 1 or 2 more players who actually are ready now and not just potential. Could be a better season though next year with Chungy & Holden back, Mears fit again, Sordell who will surely get a run in and reportedly a pick of one of Chelski's better kids

He is certainly not a lone striker, he just isnt powerfull or quck enough. definatley bought with the vue of having him link up with chungy and holden but we unfortunatly are yet to see it.

March 27, 201214 yr I fooking hope so! From the couple of times ive seen him come on for Chelsea i hope not. He looks like a stump (hope this doesnt come back to bite me ).

Also recall a shot he screwed well wide which he does far too often for someone with a left foot like his. Screwed that one well wide with his right. Got into a great position, he's just utterly, completely and totally left footed. 85 minutes of effort and tracking from Petrov is a big plus on earlier in the season.

Eye your right it was his right peg! And yeah he is totally one footed but i've seen some woeful attempts with that one too. Some absolute quality as well mind. Never seem to know what you'll get from him.

March 28, 201214 yr Screwed that one well wide with his right. Got into a great position, he's just utterly, completely and totally left footed. I bet Ricketts was fuming about that one. He'd made the same run and his right peg is a lot better than Petrov's.
