Ken Briggs was a proper gent. Never actually taught me but was there to stand in sometimes. Read a load of his books and ate his toffees, he always had a bag of sweets in his pocket.

Diddy Evans too. Former Black Watch nutter retrained as a vicar (somewhat undercover!) and R.E. teacher

Mr Scully for me.

About 600 people in the school. 598 DMB and 2 Wanderers ... Me and him

He was my years football manager for 4 our of 5 years and made me captain for all of them... Sticking to his principles :-)

Just think Saunders will be a pensioner now - and I probably still would.

Mr Davies, science teacher at Sharples.

Keith Evans history teacher at Smithills Tech. Sound guy.

Mr Walsh PE

He played semi pro and his brother was Mickey Walsh, he was a scout for Chelsea and got promoted to cheif scout under Mourinho and left teaching. He had a spell with BSA at Newcastle before becoming Nigel Pearsons number 2 and is with him now at Leicester.

He was like the PE teacher out of the film KES, fucking fantastic. He didnt bitch and moan about stress either!

Miss Pickup at Smithills.....rimmalicious !!!

Mr Gadd at Smithills, kopite, but a top bloke. We gave him a lift to a few derbies over the years !

None that I recall from school, but Fran Cotton, England and Lions prop, at college for PE.

One saturday showing my son round my old school (all boys in my day) a 'very' fit blond walked out of the music block carrying a harp, we both turned round watching her then heard the caretaker, who we hadn't seen - 'I see you've met Miss xxxxx, can I help you?' with a massive fuck off grin on his face.

If I was still at school I'd have been taking up harpist lessons I tell you!

Yeah Mr Gethin was a decent chap.

Miss Beddows, History and Miss Lucas, Science were fit.

Mike Duxbury.. PE teacher at Bolton School..

amazing to have an Ex England international for football at school, and clearly loved to teach ( I can try to forget he's ex-united),

Had Paul Marriner before him and despite being a nice bloke didn't seem to get as involved in training.

This posh school

Did you get a refund at the end?

Football? I thought it were all rugger, buggery or cricket up there? Football being a sport for oiks...

I know a few lads who went here (no judgement on you Swanny btw) and never has the phrase 'you can't polish a turd' been more apt.

Paul Mariner - I remember the fact his birthplace being listed as Bolton in the Espana '82 Album being a great source of pride for me as a nipper. He didn't get involved in training? The money they pay staff there I'd have wanted him marking the pitches, cleaning the changing rooms and making up the bottles of Robinsons AND taking training sessions.

Here's the aforementioned sticker...
