Garrp Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 I think DF must be looking beyond this season as Petrov's contract would've been up anyway - so the fact he never plays him and he won't be here next season, plus he's knocking on make it an easy one for the manager I don't think it's this ruthless streak either - he prob told Petrov he wasn't playing and he can go play top flight football in Spain if he wants, he won't hold him back what's more bizarre is if that's how he played at Palace, he's trying something different here, as we're narrow as I can recall us ever being Good point about Petrov, makes sense. Thats what I meant about being bizarre with the width and wingers on the opposite side. its the opposite to what he did at palace at least it shows hes not got one plan and he sticks to it whererver he goes regardless of players like most managers do. im convinced he wants to go out and out 442 but were now looking thin on the wings with just Eagles and Lee. I think last sat was the first time he played it, when he could afford to try something different (he may well have done in his first few games whilst he was testing the water, but don't recall) - but has clearly seen that our players suit 4-2-3-1 or similar, which is funny, because it's Coyle's team and all he ever wanted to do was play 4-4-2 the return of Holden will give him more tackle in the middle so more chance to go 4-4-2, but like you say, with just 2 wingers and M Davies to return, I don't think we'll see much 4-4-2 this season what type of midfielder is this jan gregus lad? guessing defensive of his 1 goal in 60 odd games Quote
Casino Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 lets not forget greg wylde i also reckon alonso has more chance of being a winger than a full back unless he is lined up for the campo role Quote

Garrp Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 what type of midfielder is this jan gregus lad? guessing defensive of his 1 goal in 60 odd games no idea, but Nixon did say he is what you would call a proper no 10 which would fit in with the 4-4-1-1 he played at palace. he also said hes one for the future, not now. DazBob Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Think Iles has written somewhere this week that Dougie says C. Thankfully if this has come from Iles it means he's probably read it on a forum somewhere. Quote
Garrp Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Think Iles has written somewhere this week that Dougie says C. Davies will be used cutting in from the right Just tried finding it but mill pre match press conference still not up, found one from last week though with a few points. Wages were sorted with Warnock but he wanted a longer contract than Doogie would give. theres holes in the u21 squad, hes gonna lookt to bring players in to fill that (Gregus being one) Tom Eaves is doing very well and is a few weeks away from the first team Pratley form meant we sent Butterfield back early Quote

Don't get that unless they are with a view to permanent at the end of season - 5 loanees doesnt strike me as "bigger" picture thinking Quote
