Should I show respect to people not too far away and keep them in file

  • the 70's lads weren't that stylish pal.   they had 32inch wafters,14 hole Docs, shirts with bigger collars than Lassie and every single one had a Rod Stewart haircut !!! I can imagine it in Scamps.

  • Would like to see them to remind me of that day - either here or FOMR - sure Winnie would welcome it on there

Put them on. Would love to see them.

Was at the game with my dad and uncle think i was about 8.

I'm sure they would print them if it was the other way round.

Well I say put them up, it's just a lot of football fans enjoying a day out at the football, doubt theres anything incendiary in them, just the date they where taken

Maybe if you annotate Santa hats onto some of the pics it will give them a more lighthearted feel and keep a lid on any potential flashpoints?

I'm sure something similar was posted a few days back, I'll see if I can dig it out....

That didn't work with the Lemon Party photo, did it?

are they still not on yet?

ffs

Has it happened yet? Like waitin for Christmas..........

I knew nothing about this (born in '83) until some guy started giving me grief in the Lakes last year. Got talking to some bloke about football. He was sound until I told him I was a Bolton fan, then started being a right bell end.

Get them on, it would be interesting to see what away days were like in the olden days. Are the pictures in colour?

if you don't want to post em here or the site don't want you to , get em posted on friends of manny road on fb

3 Pages of will he or won't he...

It's like the Gold Blend adverts but without the sexual tension.

You mean you cant feel the sexual tension ???

i'll show respect to this forum and mods by not posting the pics on here but will take them to one of the games over the Christmas period.

the press cuttings show how times have changed. One lad Leo B(known to a fair few on here) was fined X amount by blackpool mags for brandishing a 4ft 6inch wooden stave and steaming into blackpool fans with it,whilst shouting ''come on you blackpool bastards''. 3 or 4 Bolton fans arrested with knives and fined heavily. 2 were bizarrely arrested the night before the match and charged with breaking into a shop and stealing 2 hats !!

oddly enough as well in the same Bolton Evening News from 26th august,it mentions a 39 year old woman from morris green lane being arrested for police assault and smashing a certain town centre pub's windows. in her defence she said ''that place is evil''......The woman still lives on morris green lane to this day and is a religious nut

i'm not on facebook but will be meeting gonzo, who will scan the pics from my mate's collection and he's free to put them on facebook

Remember that bit well - on the steps at the back of the Kop - everytime blackpool fans advanced he knocked them down like skittles

Common sense prevails. We've been called thugs and knuckle draggers in the past and posting hooli pictures etc doesn't help what we've achieved as a web site over the years.

one quote from the evening news re that day mentions a camel being led round the ground before the match. i've never heard that before, can anyone confirm that ?

re the alan waldron injury - it definitely happened on the same day. pics of it in the evening news. Waldron actually commented in the evening news he was in hospital when that poor lad was rushed in and was in the next cubicle to him,as the hospital staff tried to save his life.

Waldron's leg was a nasty injury, badly twisted out of shape

Gonzo ain't on FB

One is correct Julian...causes me enough mither already and I've never been on it my bloody life!

Ive got a few of newspaper clippings already courtesy of Miami...pretty harmless if you ask me,but I'm not one for upsetting the powers that be. :innocent:

I'll sort the rest out with Miami and get em to someone via email on FB.

We were in their paddock; coach load of us from the Stags Head Daubhill and I can remember animals from the Blackpool Zoo being walked round. We got out on the final whistle but heard that the kop was being held in; initial rumours was a Bolton fan had been killed. Our night out in Blackpool was tasty to say the least

the stag was my local in the 80's, but didnt go to that game as i was only a nipper in the 70's. i do know loads of the older lads from up there,so may know you pal.

i've got the report from the evening news mentioning the initial rumours of it being a Bolton fan who'd been killed. i can imagine the night was lively, blackpool always saying they hammered any Bolton in town that night, but seeing most were in the ground then let out in dribs and drabs, then i imagine any whites wouldn't have been mobbed up and would have been easy targets

We weren't though, we were let out a dozen at a time and had to walk to the South station for the train, there were gangs of Blackpool waiting for us but nothing happened, it was a Mexican stand-off all the way, it was very nervy for us and for them too, if anything had happened I think the police would have been on us like the proverbial ton of bricks, scary times for a 16 year old,

remember getting a right bollocking off my mum when i had got home as I hadnt rung her.

"Why would I ring you after the match mum" was my defence to which she battered me around the kitchen as I had walked in as if nothing had happened - I then found it it had been reported on National news as it was a Bolton fan that was killed

i was only young and didn't go to bloomfield rd but some of my uncles did and i vaguely remember 3 of my aunties coming round to my parents worried sick saying a Bolton fan had been killed and none of my uncles had been in touch. one of my uncles told me years later, they didn't get back in until about 2ish on sunday morning absolutely bladdered and each uncle was bollocked and called ''disrespectful and thoughtless' by their respective partners
